We found Basil and his family completely by accident while visiting from Tucson. We were looking for a wine-specific liquor store, but google said there were none. While leaving the parking lot from a different store, we saw Down Time while we were on our way out. (Retro's subs and brews is a solid sandwich shop with tons of meat on your sammy, btw) and decided to pop in. We were immediately charmed by the very clearly locally owned store-front, making the best use of the space that they can. We did an impromptu tasting of 6 wines, though they have a huge selection of over 40. Reds, whites, sweet dessert, dry and oaky, and they have been doing wine for 20+ years. Basil was an absolute treat of a man, and we walked away with a case+3. You won't regret a sweet date night here at Basil's Down Time Wines.
What a lovely down home experience. The sweet sisters Collen and Connie took good care of our book club outing.
If you are looking for an expensive, bougie wine bar with overpriced charcuterie, this is not the place for you. A basic room, with highly quaffable wines is what you will find here. The flight is a great value and an even better experience to try these unique wines. Try the inexpensive and tasty snacks too. Basil and Coleen are wonderful hosts. Fun and worth it!l
The experience here was very warm and welcoming had an amazing time with my partner
We did the wine tasting package. It was a lot of fun, and their chicken salad sandwich was great :)
Coleen and Basil were so friendly and personable. First time I have been here and I love this place. Fun, quaint, and they make all their wines in house. Excellent value for the price. Can’t say enough wonderful things. I am coming back for sure.
Great place with great customer service!!!
great spot for a variety of wines. the food was great too. thanks to the owners for being such great hosts.
We went in for a tasting and had some delicious and unique wines!! I love sweet wines, and there are no shortage of those here. My husband (not a wine guy) really enjoyed the taste of coffee wine (and he LOVED the Italian sandwich on the croissant). Colleen and Basil (the owners) were attentive and helpful and friendly. If we were not flying home tomorrow, we would have purchased a bottle or two!
Basil and Coleen are the sweetest people ever ..we are family..No sulfites. No preservatives .Smooth .I kept wanting to hug them..Dreams came true 🥰

Basil and Colleen are amazing! So much fun and such lovely people. They make the best wine I’ve had in this area!! 10/10 experience, come in for a flight tasting and you will find plenty of new favorites. I want to put them both in my pocket and take them home, the kindest people you will meet! I just wanted to give them a hug, by the end of the tasting we were family.
Had a wonderful and fun time today at Down Time Wines. Their wine is wonderful and enjoyed our time talking to the owners. Went home with several bottles and don’t forget their delicious jellies. The Peach is fantastic.
EXCELLENT fresh food ! Fruit, salad, sandwiches...
The egg salad is 5 star.
All the wines are low sulphite.
If you even remotely like wine, you have to stop in and say hi to the couple that run this place. Very friendly, extremely reasonable, and, of course, good wine.
Went here for a birthday event and had a wonderful time! The staff was amazing and very attentive. I can’t wait to come back and try a paint night!
