My coworker and I used to eat lunch here often, and I always ordered the French Dip, which has been off the menu for years. So I then used to order the Philly Steak and Cheese. I hadn't been to Hoosier's for years and recently stopped by and ordered a Philly Steak & Cheese to go w/onion rings. I've always enjoyed their lunch menu and have never had a complaint. But my order was steaming hot, the bread so soggy and hot I couldn't touch it for a while. Finally when I was able to take my first bite, it was so soggy and falling apart, and it had no flavors. The onion rings were also affected by the heat and, again, no flavors in the batter besides the onion itself. I paid $18 for the meal, and I can't say I enjoyed it at all. It went in the trash, unfortunately because, I'm not going to waste calories on sub par foods. As I recall, a few years back, the sandwich bread was toasted and the cheese melting with onions and bell peppers and strips of beef. But this time, it wasn't as beautiful as it once was.

We got seated right away even though it was busy and our food came out in just a few minutes. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially the Denver omelette and pancakes with that hint of vanilla, plus the service was quick and friendly.

This is a long time family favorite cafe. We are from the Midwest and come by Hoosier's whenever we are craving a taste of home. This is the only real pork loin sandwich I've found in AZ
