Macayo's Mexican Food

Nothing more frustrating than inconsistency. Sometimes their fajitas are grilled and come out sizzling, sometimes they are oven-baked and not hot and not sizzling. The tacos have tough/chewy shells, rice/bean portions are small. Didn't like the taste of the last cheese enchilada, don't add a ton of other filling ingredients besides cheese, it messes up the taste. The cheese crisp was not fresh, the cheese layer was thick and solid, and was too greasy. Their chips and salsa are good. I grew up going to macayos, but the quality, at least at this location, has markedly deteriorated.

There was only one server in the place, but I'll give it to him he tried his best! Very nice old man. Our food was cold and the rice was awful. Could not finish our food.

Kid-friendliness: Our service was the best the little old man could do. I give him an A+ for running around in cycles. So kind.

The worst service in this industry. We were one of three tables in the entire restaurant. First of while ordering drinks our server tells us we will need to wait a few minutes because she has to go to the restroom. I understand it's a natural thing be We don't need to know about. Then 15 minutes later we finally order lunch. We ordered and Queso appetizer and our lunch. She even came back to make sure we wanted to appetizer first. Then twenty minutes go by and no Queso. Now 30min our food comes out. No Queso. I polity ask our server to not worry about the Queso now since it was forgotten. I ordered a grill chicken California burrito that came out with zero chicken. I asked just to remove them both and the server says she can't. I asked her to please get me the manager. Then 10 minutes later she comes back with just the Queso removed. At this time we just got up and left.

Great place, food was delicious, but I really have to give our waiter major kudos. Don't remember his name, but he was in the bar area. Terrific service, very attentive, great positive attitude, just exactly how I wish all waiters are these days, but unfortunately it's rare. Wonderful experience.

Visited family in Arizona in October, and decided to try this Mexican restaurant. We went there around 345 pm on a Thursday. We were seated right away. They were slow only a few tables in the restaurant.

The chips and salsa were decent. We ordered the corn appetizer and it was delicious. I highly recommend it.

The food came out super fast. I ordered the steak fajitas, which were nothing to brag about at all. I will not order them again. Not much of flavor and the meat quality was not the best. Definitely do not recommend. The other order was a vegetarian burrito, which was OK.

All in all this place was OK to try once, but there are better Mexican restaurants in the area to spend your money at.

Huge difference between this location and the one in Scottsdale. Staff are always so friendly been here multiple times after having several horrific experiences at the Scottsdale location. I had given up on Macayos and my partner insisted it's worth a shot here. She wasn't wrong and bonus PEPSI!

I recently ordered delivery from Macayo's, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The food arrived in poor condition, and both the entree and the kids' meal were subpar. The dessert was equally disappointing, to the point where I had to throw everything away.

While I did appreciate the manager's kindness and her offer of credit for the inconvenience, it doesn't change the fact that the quality of the food was lacking. I can't recommend this restaurant based on my experience, as I expected much better. I hope they can improve their food quality in the future.

Carlos provided amazing service during our visit to Macayo's Mexican Food! From the moment we walked in, he seated us right away and ensured we were good to go every step of the way. His attentiveness and friendliness made the experience so enjoyable.

The food was hot and delicious, exactly what we hoped for, and the Pepsi was perfectly fresh and fizzy—clearly served with care. Carlos went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and we truly appreciated his excellent service.
