I think there Hawaiian BBQ is good, but the Ramen that everyone seems to rave about is nothing special. I have had better broth in upper end grocery store bought Ramen. I had the Nishikawa Black and it tasted like greasy pork in water with a little fish sauce and garlic. The greasy pork fat taste was bad though in the broth, like drinking bacon grease with garlic in it. My wife had the veggie Ramen and it was not too bad. The broth in it had more of a beefy garlic flavor....
We got the Yokohama, kalbi short rib and tonkotsu ramen. Service was great, place was clean and atmosphere is nice. We enjoyed the option of adding spice to the ramen. I got mild on my kalbi ramen and my husband got medium on his Yokohama and it was still tasty and portioned well.
Hawaiian BBQ Nishikawa Ramen stole the show for Father's Day dinner! Food was ono (delicious)! Loved the customized Ramen, and Island Fire Chicken was a hit! Service was ohana-style (family-like) - super friendly server went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Impressive that they caught the beef oil issue with the shrimp and offered a solution. Ambiance was spot on, even gave my keiki (kid) a fun jungle-themed cup! 5/5 stars, can't wait to go back! #HawaiianBBQNishikawaRamen...
