We ordered takeout from Yama sushi House. The food was very good. The portions were very small compared to other places. I tried the baked scallop roll in hopes that it would taste like sakanas, (rip sakanas) but it was sweet and just 'ok'. The hot night roll was delicious.

I'll give this place the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure it's amazing. I get that my SO ordered on Valentine's Day and that there will be a wait. One of the people complained to the gentleman at the front about why the order is taking a while to make. He seemed to try to give a reason for why it's taking so long. The customer seemed disgruntled with the answer. It was busy and tables still seemed empty with only drinks. I feel like they could've given appetizers to those waiting, but that's just a suggestion. Might have uplifted the spirits of that one customer if they threw in a free item/drink for the long wait times on takeout orders.

First impressions was not great. Unfortunately they couldn’t accommodate our reservation. Not sure what happened but we had a confirmed reservation and when we arrived, they did not have our table ready and wouldn’t be ready. They offered us bar seats only. We were hungry and the sushi was good, but I’d just go to Shimugamo instead for amazing food, amazing atmosphere and reservations that are honored.

Went in with high expectations because of the reviews, and sad to say it was disappointing. Our server, Tina seemed nice, but she made a comment that really rubbed us the wrong way. When we were ordering, we had ordered the love boat and when my bf said that’s all, she thought we were ordering more food and she made a comment saying “no, I think that is all for you” I understand she may have meant it as ‘the love boat has a good amount of food” but it came off as ‘you’re eating too much’ and we did NOT like that. Most of the things on the love boat was good, except I found a couple scales in my sashimi and honestly the salmon sashimi and tuna nigiri did not seem fresh. It was pretty bad quality for the price you have to pay. We also got an order of Takoyaki and big mistake because the center of it was VERY cold. We didn’t send it back because of the comment our server made and we didn’t want to deal with her again. Overall we won’t be coming back, because if we are going to spend $100 there are plenty of other sushi places around here to spend it at.

My kids took me to Yama Sushi for a birthday dinner and we had a great time. We worked through a range of appetizers and sushi, and my son had the tonkatsu. Yama Sushi had a very good selection of nigiri sushi, along with an extensive roster of maki zushi, some traditional, others not so much. Everything was prepared with a proper ratio of rice to fish. The chefs are masters of their craft.

Yama Sushi hit the trifecta of good food, good service and reasonable prices. Definitely worth a repeat visit next time I’m out that way.

Without a doubt greatest sushi I've had in a long time, maybe ever. Anh was our server. Not only was she sweet, she was knowledgeable. I'm so impressed, i can't put it into words. One of those places you almost don't want to tell others about, because it's your secret, but they deserve it.

tina is a great server!! my husband and i were both servers for almost 10 years so we know what we’re talking about. tina and the staff at the chandler location were fantastic with their teamwork and the food was amazing. best quality fish we’ve had in the valley. despite being the only server and being so busy tina made sure we were taken care of and was knowledgeable of the menu.
TINA DESERVES A RAISE AND ASK FOR HER WHEN YOU GO IN.
we had the blossom roll (left) pork gyoza (middle) and shaggy dog roll (right) as well as miso soup and seaweed salad. my husband and i also enjoyed a large house hot sake

Place was a little busy at dinner time, didn't wait too long to be seated. The place was fully staffed, and took care of us. Our drinks didn't sit empty for very long. The server was definitely on top of her game. The food came out pretty quick for such a large table. Would recommend for a nice quiet dinner with friends and family.

My experience at Yama Sushi House was fantastic! Our server, Tina, was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, especially for me as someone who is gluten-sensitive. She even offered gluten-free soy sauce packets to take home! I tried the gluten-free Blossom and Ninja rolls, both were delicious as well as the chef's sashimi. The fish was fresh, my favorite was the white tuna from Alaska it had almost a smokey flavor it was so delicious we didn’t even get a photo because we ate it so fast lol. My fiancé loved the Tonkotsu ramen, which came in a clever container that kept the noodles from getting soggy. The ambiance was nice and casual, not super fancy and fairly priced. Definitely my new go to sushi spot!

Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free soy sauce, 2 gluten free rolls the blossom and the ninja roll and a few appetizers and more

Our waitress was amazing. She was so helpful with repeating the names of the sashimi we had when we forgot. Our cups were never empty. Everything was delicious and fresh. My husband so badly wanted to take the boat out food came in home. I’d love to return and try more. We also had the gyoza, beef short rib, baked lobster roll, pineapple cake and crème brûlée.

Tried for the 1st time since we moved to chandler and it was Amazing! They are also open on Sundays so BONUS, I had the chicken katsu and deep fried gyoza and it was fantastic. The server was great and on it for service and refills. Short wait for our food, we'll be back with friends.
