EDIT: I ate here the other day and can say it was the most disgusting food I've ever paid to eat. I couldn't believe anyone would ever pay money for what I'd eaten, much less take time to leave a positive review of Hitchin Post.In fact, after seeing so many positive reviews of the place I decided to try it again, and it was much better the second time. I guess everyone has off-days sometimes. Still wasn't my favorite BBQ, but at least worth the money.

Decided to try this other BBQ place in town and we are extremely disappointed. The pulled pork sandwich was just cubes of fat with a tablespoon of sauce, the Mac and cheese had the consistency of mashed potatoes and tasted like cardboard, the fries were over cooked and way over salted. I will not eat here again and I am upset that I wasted money here.

We stopped to try this place for lunch. We each ordered the Full Monty. The food came in an aluminum pie tin and looked like a plate of pig slop and tasted just as bad. Ate 2 bites each and left. Will never go back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We were in their just 45 minutes ago and found the cashier to be rather rude. The rolls, Mac and cheese and pulled pork was ice cold and the brisket was dry. French fries were very crunchy. We’ve been at this establishment several times and taken the food home. This is the first time the food was horrible, it has always been great. I don’t know if the reason behind this is they were getting all the Thanksgiving dinners out. But definitely this has been the worse experience we’ve encountered. The cashier definitely needs to be more friendly.

What do I recommend about the Hitchin’ Post? Everything! A Wonderful, Friendly and Gracious Staff, Fall of the Bone Meat and More than ample portions! You will Not go away hungry and you Will remember a Great dining experience!

Plate of brisket nachos (for 1, cheese sauce from a can) and a glass of tea for $16.00 (including tip). Not a good value proposition.
Food quality is very poor. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
