Fast service and good food. Had the breakfast burrito with egg, cheese and jalapeno.
Straight up FIRE!!!!!! I walked a mile just to get some NO REGRETS!!!
Food is ok. My Nacho was cold and the almost $12 carne aside Burrito was so small.
This was the only restaurant other than fast food chains open on a monday night during our overnight stay in nearby Mayer. Pleasantly surprised that it bangs.
Good food and decent prices. There isn’t any indoor seating (it’s inside a gas station), but the counter service was quick even on a seemingly busy night. Great spot to know about between Flagstaff and Phoenix!
They charge more for Apple Pay or tap
They didn’t really season the food
And tried to get a tip before i even got my food …I did look good until i realized no seasoning omg
Delicious take-out food. We were staying overnight at nearby Arcosanti and were recommended to check this place out - we may never have found it otherwise, given it's in a gas/service station. Friendly and accommodating staff (I don't like cilantro which can be a problem with Mexican food). We had burritos and quesadillas. The food was fantastic: generous portions, wonderful flavour, great value. We'd go back to Cordes Lakes for the food alone. I don't think I've ever had such good Mexican food. Muchas gracias!
I called in my order and arrived at 10 like I mentioned on the phone! They said they would only take cash and they seemingly didn’t make my food.
I’m bummed because it’s the only food option I’m interested in at that exit.
I called ahead and arrived on time !
I’m disappointed!!!!!!!
Delicious!
We pulled off the Cordes Lakes exit for a bathroom break. We just happen to see El Gordo nearby inside a gas station. It looked authentic, so we had to give it a shot. They were pretty busy with a couple people in front of us. We ordered the chicken, steak, and pork street tacos. They came with guacamole on top! Their tacos were some of the best, most flavorful tacos we had while visiting Arizona. The only regret we have is not ordering more!!
Amazing just amazing as a truck driver are options are very bland in the road but found this little gem and food was amazing got the patron burrito street tacos and a tamale and chips with pico def coming back again when I drive through
Restaurantji Recommends
I had a chorizo, egg, potato & cheese burrito. It was excellent. Nice spice to chorizo, tortilla was fresh and held together well. Wife had bean & cheese burrito, she said hers was excellent also. Hot sauce was fresh and had a little kick, but not so hot as to make you uncomfortable. Definitely will eat here again. Probably birria tacos next time. 3 for the atmosphere, nothing against the restaurant but it is in a gas station.
Little pricey - almost $4 for small street taco - but tasty & convenient :)
The food was good- we got street tacos (beef & chicken) and chicken burrito along with chips & pico. With drinks, it was $25.
Good price, good food, hearty servings. Friendly, accommodating service. When we left there was a line of 10 people ordering food. We were a bit ambivalent as this is take-out from a gas station- but it was worth the stop. There are tables to eat outside. Thanks!
The food here is amazing! I come every month when I am in town for work. Almost have tried every thing on the menu. So far all very delicious. I highly recommend this place. 🤤
I've been eating there for several years. I spent $63 tonight. I got my usual, carne asada burrito. It was cold and was less than a size of a Taco Bell burrito. Several quesadillas which contained more butter and tortilla then it did any cheese. I usually have to split those burritos in half to eat them. Today I was left hungry, and wondering what the hell.
