My wife and I visited around 2pm. At that moment, we were the only customers, and the server said we had just missed the lunch crowd. After we arrived it ended up getting very busy with both dine ins, and carry outs. I had the full rack of ribs, with french fries, and potato salad. The basket of ribs and fries looked great, and tasted great. I ate all of the ribs, and no way could I finish the very generous serving of fries. The fries were very good. I took the potato salad to go and ate that later. Quite tasty. I would certainly eat there again.
Very friendly staff. Large parking lot. I only wish they expanded a bit into the parking lot to better use the space around them. The tables are too close together in my opinion. I'm not trying to be on top of my neighbor or hear their every word, I'd head to a city if I wanted that level of attention. Maybe it's just that in 2021, I'm a little more conscious when another patron decides to sit next to us, when there were several open tables anywhere else in the space. The garlic fries were very garlicky, but not raw or roasted garlic, more like a fresh powder mixed with other seasonings. Some places would call those "dirty fries" or "Cajun style" due to the red pepper and other stuff to give it some zing. The brisket and pork plate had good but measured portions. It was shredded brisket, so I couldn't tell if they had a nice ring of pink on it, I didn't see any. A few ends, so you got a nice taste of their bark / seasonings. The bark wasn't too punchy and very tasty. The sauce came in hot or normal. And both seemed only OK. The hot barbeque sauce did have a nice punch to it. However the plain barbeque sauce wasn't too different than ketchup. Their house made ranch sauce was really good though. We had mozzarella sticks for the table, those were great. I got to try to sweet potato fries, which were also good. Both seemed to have a nicely coated similar batter about them, a little smooth so maybe with extra egg or something to even out the breading.
This place has GREAT ribs! Very personable staff. We will definitely come here again the next time we travel through!
We ordered three meals at Hog Wild. I had the BBQ inferno. It is a pulled pork and brisket sandwich with spicy sauce. There is so much meat on the bun that I ended up eating it with a fork - open face style. Absolutely delicious. My wife had the pulled pork on a bun. It too was a generous portion of pork and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Our daughter had the ribs and loved them. In fact as we tried to decide where to eat for meals later during our stay she always wanted to go back to Hog Wild. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter, Tucker, was friendly and helpful and very positive. I highly recommend Hog Wild.
We had brisket, pulled pork and BBQ chicken. All were delicious and portions were generous. Beans were excellent. Fries were good too. Their BBQ sauce was really tasty, a little sweet with a kick. Service was slow but that is kind of normal at a BBQ place. Most of the seating is outside which must be a challenge during bad weather.
Cottonwood's best barbeque, all the locals know, so if you come to visit us stop for lunch or an early supper your mouth is in for a treat. There is outside seating for those that enjoy a little wind and old style seating inside. If you enjoy some gossip take your time eating and you can learn a little history about Cottonwood or you can just ask folks around here like to talk about this place.
Great BBQ! Just off the busy Downtown strip where we couldn't find parking so came here. Turned into a great find. Owner was super nice.
Some really great BBQ! Totally recommend their Party Packs!
We had a huge order for a work lunch and everything was amazing! Bacon cheeseburgers + garlic fries was the favorite
My son and I were venturing out past Sedona and decided to stop here! OMG! We were so glad we did. He cannot stop talking about how great it was. I totally agree. Brisket and ribs were very flavorful, actually everything we ate was. Highly recommend this place!

I love the food and staff at Hog Wild! I've been going there for probably close to 10 years now, its always been a favorite.I'm from Kansas City, so I take my BBQ seriously.. Hog Wild does not disappoint! I have to say, I believe her name is Jess, is always very friendly and goes above and beyond. People like her come to mind when I think of the hospitality industry. The owners definitely have a keeper there! Give that girl a raise!!
We came out to Cottonwood to do some camping and ATV / Dirt bike riding over the weekend. Someone recommended Hog Wild BBQ so we gave it a try. I must say, I have been to BBQ in different parts of the country and this is the Best BBQ in the West. Friendly staff and nice outdoor dining made it even better.
We ordered the beef brisket/pulled pork combo. It came with Texas toast and two sides.First of all, the portions of meat were hearty and so were the baked beans and fries. Loved the hand cut fries and the beans were tasty also. Loved how they have a bottle of bbq sauce on the table so you can use as much as you want. The food was great. Would definitely recommend
Nice atmosphere, fast service, friendly staff... food was excellent!
Generous portions and great smokey flavor! I'm giving it 4 stars because it was too dry for my liking. Instead of loose meat piled on the bun, it was a perfectly formed, tight ball of meat (reminded me of a school lunch). Perhaps they squeezed all of the juice out when scooping it up??Quick service, nice patio seating, and great value!
