Went shopping in Cottonwood and decided to have lunch in Old Town at the Red Rooster. It has a very unique menu. We both had lamb. I had the Lamb Gyros, and Hubby had the Lamb burger. Both came with goat cheese and tzatziki sauce and pickled onions on the side. Amazing flavor, and when you add the pickled onions, it put it over the top. It's a little had to find, but it is well worth the search.

We sat down and ate 4 basic things for $90. Crazy expensive for very simple food. The sides being a bag of chips and was told an upgrade was potato salad. The food was basic and nothing to write home about. Just not a place I would consider again. I could have gone across the street to The Tavern and bad twice the meal for almost the same price!

Dropped into old town Cottonwood and found this cool little restaurant that served up a great late breakfast and an early lunch. They serve lunch all day, so I had an excellent Ruben sandwich. Real corned beef, not lunch meat and great homemade potato salad! My wife's plate was a breakfast sandwich, open face with goat cheese and asparagus. They also serve breakfast specials. The waitress gave us a little advice to help our walking tour of Cottonwood!

My turkey cranberry wrap was delicious. My husband loved his Cuban pita, but they were both expensive. The help were in their 20s and didn't have good serving skills, unless you don't mind them talking and eating in the corner instead of helping their customers. Music had today's hits which we didn't prefer, and we had a choice of 3 tables because they said they were closing in an hour and didn't want anyone to sit in the backroom, or they'd have to clean it, or something.

Excellent little café in the heart of Cottonwood.Nothing fancy, exactly what you would expect in a town worth so much character.Service was top notch, and the food was delicious.. and a bit unique. I had a breakfast reuban.. eggs, corned beef, kraut, swiss, hollandaise. Real good.If you're in town and want a good meal, highly recommend.
