Quality of the food is almost always good, hours are sketchy and you can never tell if they are going to be open or not, portions are getting smaller but inflation is hitting everyone, Loraine works hard to make it good but it's been tough!
Lai Lai is a gloriously tasty no-frills Chinese-American restaurant that has been serving Douglas for almost 30 years now. The rice and lo mein are the best of the best out there, bar none. They are infused with a magnificent, wok seared flavor, wok hei, if you will. It's a character that is absent in the food of most other restaurants in the entire state.I am personally a huge fan of their egg rolls, crab puffs, General Tso's chicken, Teriyaki chicken, and hot and sour...
Remember to tip. The lady is just too gracious to want to accept it. The food is good. We order frequently for takeout. Always have to leave the pay and run before the gracious owner tries to return my tip as my change.
