Wonderful patio seating, magnificient view on Ave of the Fountain, authentic Mexican food that is so delicious, the spicy margarita was divine as well. When we desire Mexican we choose Sofritas every time!!!
This is a hidden gem foodie restaurant. Super fresh, homemade, lots of flavor. A restaurant with soul and personality, love the vibe of the inside. It’s a beautiful little place. Not generic and would make a special trip to go back and visit. We had the pork tacos (amazing), chicken tacos very good if you like a bit simpler, get a sample of their homemade salsas with fresh homemade tortilla chips. Housemade cucumber lemonade super refreshing.

I’m so disappointed. My husband and I only get to go to Sofrita’s when we’re in town a couple times a year. Been going since it opened and was a huge fan of their guacamole, breakfast burrito and chicken salad.
Sadly, this is the first time we were let down on all fronts. No more single serving portions of guacamole… $15 was the minimum order. Because my husband doesn’t eat it, the single serving was perfect for me.
They stopped serving eggs… so no breakfast burrito for him.
I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and what a disappointment that was. Instead of the usual chunky pieces of fresh chicken, I got hard pieces of old chicken that tasted like it had been sitting in the refrigerator for a week. The Mayo dressing was even broken down to nothing but oil.
I couldn’t eat it and sent it back. We left and ate elsewhere.
I felt bad for the server because none of it was his fault. But so disappointed as we looked so forward to this for weeks.
What happened to this place?? Two stars only because the Service was fine and the lemonades were delicious. But I hope they fix the food and menu problems.
The interior of the restaurant is not cleaned well and is in a state of disrepair. The front entrance door is broken. The tables are sticky. The front window glass is cloudy. The interior decor hasn’t been updated since the restaurant opened. The food took a long time to arrive and was warm, not hot. We won’t be going back. It’s a shame that the patrons in FH have to go to Scottsdale to find a decent restaurant.

Delicious food and best if all? Lots of options for gluten free and vegetarian diners. My favorite are the gluten free fish tacos.

Great spot in Fountain Hills
I love this place, the prickly pear margarita is always so good. I haven't tried too many dishes because I love the Cubano sandwich and tostones so that's what I usually get. The guacamole is also so fresh. The service has always been great. Today they weren't very busy so they were extra speedy with their service and friendly as always.
Beautiful Puerto Rucan Cafe however, truly.. very little Puerto Rican food.
The Tostones and flan are Amazing!

Excellent food. Excellent service. Delicious Sangrias and Mojitas
Quiet and small eating space inside. Everyone likes their meals. Large portions of paella would be great, and not so much sofrita sauce on the pernil would greatly improve these dishes.
The tostones were very good, but the fish tacos were disappointing—the fish was breaded and dry, making it unpleasant to eat. I had to take the fish out of the taco just to make it palatable. The sangria tasted like juice, not what I expected. The service was mixed—the server was rude, but the bartenders were friendly. As for the bathroom, it was definitely interesting and exotic!
What a wonderful little spot in Fountain Hills. The Bruschetta Board was amazing! The Shrimp Tacos were really tasty as well. We also tried the guacamole and that was to die for. Will definitely be back! Lovely patio with a view of the Fountain. ⛲️
We have such a love/hate relationship with Sofrita. It's one of the more unique offerings in a town with a dismal dining scene but I'd love to see a few new dishes added to the menu - I feel like we've been seeing the same offerings, even down to the bruschetta toppings for years. I do love their Beet Salad though they've gotten a little chintzy on the portion sizes.
Take out portions sizes are super generous though and boxed and presented so nicely which is also hard to come across.
Eating inside is undesirable - small and dark however their patio is super welcoming and a great place to enjoy a tasty drink and meal.
The service though...they are always understaffed and service is always so...slow... You'd think on the weekend or during special events they would staff accordingly, but they never do. Even when it's not busy or they do have enough help the servers are inattentive and the whole dining experience takes SO much longer than it needs to. Our toddler is one of the most patient kids i know but we always need to make sure we pack extra stickers and coloring pages because the wait will be unnecessarily long, even for an adult. I do wish they had a kids menu or some more side portions as our kiddo loves their chicken salad and rice but once you order the chicken salad wraps and the side of rice you've spent $15 for a kid size portion of food.
Overall, the food and ambiance are better than most anywhere else in town, I just wish dining there didn't have to be such an all night adventure.
