Stoped into the cafe returning from the north rim.. what an amazing place to eat! The food was so delicious and the staff were super friendly!!
Food and drinks: Convivial place for dinner. The cherry pie is I-N-S-A-N-E.
But the "famous cookies" are way to sweet.
Rooms: Cabins are a tight fit. But clean and cozy.
Nearby activities: North Rim of the Grand Vanyon
Food and drinks: Great food and wait staff
Noteworthy details: 100 years old. Don't expect the Ritz.
My wife and I stayed here one night recently as a launching point for seeing the North Rim. It seems that the property has evolved over time with cabins, a motel and now a hotel component - we stayed in the hotel. The accommodations were suitable and clean, but pretty basic and rustic in nature (no fridge or mwaves). The front desk and other staff were very friendly, helpful and outgoing. There were areas outside the room to sit and enjoy the scenery but ours had brush overgrown and so we couldn't really appreciate that feature. The Inn has a Cafe, convenience store and gift shop. The food we enjoyed was tasty but we felt a little pricey - breakfast was like $45. In terms of the location and accommodations and such this property is probably a pretty good option, but if you are used to traditional chains like Hilton or Marriott this will not be up to those standards. We would most likely stay here again if on a short visit to the North Rim. My official rating is 3.5 stars but not feasible and I cannot get to 4, so rating a 3.

I visited in late October '24.
First, I found the whole facility to be delightful. The entry room was a combonation of motel desk, lobby lounge (GREAT fireplace!), cookies display and point of sale, convenience store,
gift shop, lunch counter, and restaurant.
There were also small museum-like displays in the ebtry area. All very interesting. (It is worth noting that the inn has been operated by the same family OVER 100 YEARS!)
My visit to jacob lake was part of a +4000 mile road trip that included camping and motels.
My intention was to camp, but I found that the nearby Jacob lake USFS campground was closed, evidently for the season. (This became a common issue with many forest service campgrounds during the trip.)
Since camping was not an option I decided to stay overnight in a duplex cabin. It was early and I had to wait a bit for check-in. During the wait I had lunch at the lunch counter ( too early for the duning room). I had the chicken with cream cheese and cranberry sauce with cole slaw on the side. This is an outstanding sandwich! I also enjpyed one of tte cookies for dessert. The service at both lunch counter and cookie shop was very good.
After lunch I took a quick trip to the north rim (it is so close, why not?) Unfortunately the north rim facilities were closed for the season. In fact not long after my visit the road to the rim closes each year.
I returned to Jacob lake and found my cabin ready for check-in. (Note that there was no one in the other half of my duplex while I was there.)
The cabin area is nicely laid out in park-like fashion. Each cabin has an outdoor sitting area, either an attached or detached porch. These spots would be great places to relax, but my schedule was full so no time for that.
(The cabin I had was very clean, but a bit small inside. Ample space for one, but possibly a bit ctamped for two. The ceramic tile shower was roomy and very nice. Decor was appropriate for the location.)
After checking in I returned to the restaurant for dinner. I had the barbecue sandwich which was good, but not quite up to standards for my southern U.S. BBQ palate.
Once again service was excellent. In fact I had the same waiter for breakfast the next morning.
All things considered, prices seem a bit high, but the facility is virtually on the doorstep to the grand canyon north rim, and remote enough that just getting food there is likely costly. Considering the location, I feel that prices - for lodging and food - is completely reasonable.
I would happily return for the same experience.
Rooms: Clean, but cabins a bit small.
Nearby activities: Grand canyon north rim
Safety: I felt very comfortable with items left in my car at night. Felt very safe.
Walkability: Only the Jacob Lake Inn facilities are in walking distance.
Food and drinks: Food was very good
Noteworthy details: Staff members were very friendly and accommodating.

Went to the restaurant.
Food and drinks: Stopped in for lunch and cookies. I had the BLT which was slightly undersized, but tasted great. Fries were delicious.
But the cookies - amazing! I had - Lemon Raspberry, PB Chocolate Chip and Snickerdoodle. My wife and I detoured on our way back to UT from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and it was worth it.
Definitely recommend stopping for cookies!

Whatever you do, DO NOT stay in a cabin. We booked a cabin for two nights and they didn't tell us that the one we got has shared walls with another cabin and the walls were paper thin. We could hear the other people whispering, not to mention they had a dog that barked at everything. It was also kind of gross on the inside. Luckily, they had a room available and we were able to switch, otherwise it would have been a complete nightmare. Highly recommend staying somewhere else. I felt like it was expensive for what they were offering and they could get away with it because there isn't a lot of options nearby.
The staff was really friendly, that's the best they have going for them.
For the restaurant, they would overcook breakfast, but the sausage was good. For dinner, I recommend the Chicken Pot Pie. If you need a bite, it is fine here but I don't recommend staying here, especially in a cabin.

This place is a reminder of the good will in the world. All of the staff were helpful and kind when we were in a difficult spot. We pulled into Jacob Lake Inn well after dark during our cross-country road trip and after hearing a strange clunking sound from the car driving through a long-stretch of the road with no towns or services. We planned on staying at the North Rim Campground, but were worried about the car. So we asked the girls working at the front counter if there was anyone around that knew anything about cars. Well... as luck would have it, they told Gabriel the Inn's handyman to come take a look. Gabriel diagnosed the problem in no time. It turns out that our brake caliper had fallen off and the other was hanging on by one bolt. His assistance very well might have saved our lives. We are deeply grateful for his help and kindness. Thank you, Gabriel!

Good stay for the price if you're visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon or other surrounding state parks.
Possibly the best blueberry turnovers in the world.
Another hotel-restaurant that benefits from its geographical location. The price of the night (almost $200, breakfast not included, even coffee is charged) for a fairly large but sad room, with (very) worn (or even broken) furniture. Whose bathroom floor has clearly not been swept, washed for a long time. The toilet seat is also broken. There is no fridge, microwave, coffee machine or hot water machine. The wifi connection is extremely weak. Most of the food offered for sale is of low nutritional quality.
Food and drinks: I just had supper there, chicken breasts on bed of mushrooms and onions topped with gravy. Plus 2 sides, I had the grilled green beans and smashed potatoes. So good, and great service.

Stayed here for 1 night to visit the Grand Canyon and the hotel itself was really nice. The room were small cabins which were nicely designed, I really loved it. The only problem I had with the room was, that it was FREEZING cold at night. Had to put on my hoodie and still was freezing. Wish it would’ve been isolated a bit more. Otherwise good location and nice hotel.

I usually don’t leave a negative review…. the beginning of our service at the cafe was stellar, our salad comes out quickly and was great! I saw several people with burgers that were cooked to perfection.. but after we ordered we kept being told our food would be out soon…. 45 minutes later and a new server later and our food finally came out. Our fries tasted like they’d been under a heat lamp for 45 minutes, the hamburger was way over cooked. Green beans were somehow dry and way over seasoned. Salisbury steak was way over cooked and extremely dry, I ordered gravy that didn’t come out with my meal. When I finally got the attention of the waitress, she brought what looked like a lump of warm bacon grease and chunks bacon fat that was somehow sweet… Don’t waste your money or time!
