This Barrio Queen location was vibrant and fun. The menu had many offerings and the food tasted great. There was plenty of available parking nearby.
The waiter was attentive The manager or chef came out to clarify some food preferences The fall menu was fabulous 2 notes - I had to ask for flatware and the noise level with street noise and restaurant noise was bad but died down after an hour We were not rushed to leave
The restaurant was not too bust at 5:30 on a Saturday night. I had the "surf and turf" taco. It was fantastic. Nice outside patio area.
The Tuesday Taco Special is fantastic! BOGO!

Best table side guacamole in town! Ask for the spicy salsa.

The food is so good here! The service is friendly and warm. And the atmosphere is quite beautiful. It's my favorite Mexican restaurant.

Waitress and service was terrible. Had to ask twice for silverware and place settings after we had food. Never got refills, even after we asked. Same waitress forgot to bring table side guac to patrons next to us after their entrees arrived.
Our chicken tacos had an odd flavor and the carne asada salad was drenched in dressing. The margaritas were delicious and guacamole at the table was great.

Been here several times and our experiences have not always been great. Most recent experience - had to wait a while before we were acknowledged -shrimp fajita barely had any shrimp, husbands steak fajita was overcooked. Beans were dry and seemed like they had been sitting all day. -We both had water and our bill was 75 dollars. Too much money.
This was our second time trying Barrio Queen in Gilbert. With so many other competing Mexican food restaurants, this one just didn't quite measure up. Our waiter was extremely nice, but the food was not what we've come to expect living here in the Southwest.
Barrio Queen is reliable, though the service at this location was a bit sluggish on our last visit. Great happy hour menu.

Food was not good at all. Like barely edible. It's unfortunate because I love the Barrio Queen in Desert Ridge and Old Town Scottsdale. This location is so bad, I regret taking my cousin here for her birthday dinner.
Boss and I love it
