Awful lady works there. Very rude. Side of building says espresso and she was like we don’t have espresso very rudely. Asked do you have coffee. She handed a menu that said coffee. Then proceeded to pour me a hot black coffee I didn’t order and expected me to pay and tip. Worst service I’ve ever experienced in my life. First review I’ve ever left as well.

We stopped in because the building said coffee and espresso on the front in giant font. When we walked in I said that we just wanted drinks to go and asked to see their espresso menu and the lady at the counter looked at me like I was crazy and said they didn’t have espresso and gave me the menu. They only had hot coffee on the menu. My brother asked if they could do iced coffee and was ignored. I ended up asking for two coffees and she walked away without saying a word. When she came back and gave us the coffee, I asked for creamer and she was annoyed with me and they only had one creamer in the place. The coffee was pretty bad on top of the confusion and rudeness. Would not recommend.

Lets play whack the tourists and anyone else we can take advantage of. At the Canyon Cafe when you enter there is no greeting, so don't expect a warm welcome, why? Because you are not welcome there, and they do everything possible to get that point across so get a clue. Expect indifference and the silent treatment except for the sign scribbled on notebook paper taped to the front door that informs the customer "NO ICE" that's the warmest greeting you're gonna get. I do not appreciate the rudeness of the waitress, and the lack of professionalism. It took 20 min to get a glass of tea and a menu and to have it slammed on the table. It The food is mediocre at best, and when I put my elbow on the table my shirt stuck to the table ok, when I pried it off the table and inspected my elbow, it was "ketchup. The place needs a thorough cleaning. The tables are never wiped down. On the outside sign of the Canyon Cafe it says espresso? There is no espresso, and no barista, there never has been, so why lie? Everything that is painted on their window and sign does not exist. There is no espresso machine, there is only Julie the waitress. They serve one kind of coffee there and it's called, Yuban, it tastes terrible. I am not kidding you will spit it back in your cup. You can get 3 lbs at Sams for $11.00 and it tastes terrible. At least Hot diggity dog, the restaurant across the street serves Folgers. When Julie brought our burgers, No silverware, no ketchup, no mayo, no there were no napkins I had to go find some for myself, I could have sworn Julie motioned her wrist to her mouth to me, as if to say, wipe your mouth on your sleeve, we have no napkins here. We were not permitted the squeeze bottle condiments. That's what low esteem we were held in. We are in a sit down restaurant and we get our burgers on paper in a basket but no napkins or silverware. Julie either doesn't like to refill them at the end of her shift or we don't rate, so we were given "to go" condiments. The little ones that you work to tear open and everyone always ask someone else to open them because they were not meant to be opened by anyone ever and you end up using your teeth. Yeah those. When I went to pay my bill, much to my surprise I was charged a "FOOD INFLATION CHARGE of 20 %" (that is how it is printed on your check.) How about if I charge the Canyon Cafe a 20% rude fee or a 20% late fee for taking 20 minutes to bring a beverage? Never mind that I was not notified prior to ordering, of the bogus charge they intended to clip me for and never mind the inflation rate as of OCT 11 was 2.9% NOT the 20% they were charging customers. Someone thought it would be a great Idea to add $5.50 to my check just because. Well the Atty General disagrees. *According to the Arizona ATTY General Consumer Protection Division, Restaurants must disclose all mandatory charges- including inflation fees and service charges or benefit surcharges before the customer orders or pays. So no, I will not recommend going to the Canyon Cafe restaurant where the waitstaff is habitually rude, slams items on the table and never looks you in the eye and never says thank you for coming. A place where the owners believe it is their right to gouge customers 20% extra as long as they can get away with it. You owe your customers an apology and a refund and soon you will owe the Atty General an explanation. The Canyon Cafe takes their customers for granted. The tourists they take for granted because they believe they will never see them again and the local patrons are taken for granted because they think they will always be there. And that's not OK.

DO NOT RECOMMEND, Order door dash or bring your own food if you are not a patient... Patient food was much better.
While waiting for family we ordered several wraps and sandwiches ordered a turkey only wrap one piece of meat was like half turkey half roast beef, which I've never seen before so definitely not appetizing... There was under cook AND over cooked bacon, again only ordered a turkey wrap.... Got a side of rice and it tasted like mint & soap.
Drink prices not listed anywhere so good guess what they cost...I know the soda & icee we got were $4 total.
With this being one of the "newer" Banner hospitals (at least newer than Desert) I'm truly surprised that this location looks like an after thought in the hospital.

Its always so nice to have this Cafe available when unfortunately stuck in the hospital. The food is like comfort food and surprisingly good with reasonable prices. Haven't been here in a few years (thank goodness) but glad to see you still run a quality cafe!

the honey Sriracha salmon was incredible, and not just grading on the scale of hospital food. i ate well here for a couple days, there's a good variety of rotating hot meals as well as pizza and prepackaged items, and very reasonably priced also

Amazing burger. Really great prices. Potto with parapets $12. Very good quality. The place is very modest, typical of the area. But the quality is very high

Good casual and affordable breakfast on our drive from Grand Canyon West to Vegas. Small restaurant with what appeared to be lots of locals.

They have a small Cafe that usually has a couple options but they are never great and over priced. The food the serve the parents is worse and they can't get the orders right most the time. Seriously served my wife food that look like it came from a toilet. She already doesn't want to eat and you send her this when she doesn't order. Worst cafeteria ever.

We had an amazing and huge breakfast here. It was so delicious! The service is just incredible - better than at the Marriott where we were staying before. I asked for some extras and was right out spoiled! And the breakfast tasted better than at the Marriott too. Highly recommend going here and enjoying this quaint little town as well. Having not been to the USA in a while, I was quite disappointed to see that chain restaurants are growing and replacing small family owned restaurants. Let's hope little gems like the Canyon Cafe stay around a long time!
