This place is nice, they have a vegan option menu and a regular menu. Tried their green chicken curry and my friend had a vegan spicy curry 🍛 it was delicious.

Walking in it seems weird with children and lots of fish aquariums. The fish take up 1/3 of the floor space of the dinning room. The food though just unexpectedly some of the best Thai I think my wife and I have eaten. It was a complete surprise huge portions and we were blown away. You got to try it WOW!

I ordered crab fried rice with #3 spicy level. It was not spicy at all. I also ordered soup with rotten spots on the tomatoes and unpeeled shrimp. I spent 42 bucks. I'll never order here again.
As much as I appreciate and want to support small restaurants...I cant recommend this place.
As I was waiting for the did to be cooked, I was reading some of the other reviews to see what I was going to compare against.
The place STILL could use a deep clean and a consistent cleaning routine.
I don't know what's up with all the fish tanks in the back
I have to agree with a previous review that there is very little distinct flavor.
The pad Thai was all spice and too much fish oil
The Masaman was pretty bland.
The orange chicken was the shining star of the meal, but that was for the kids.
For the price I paid, I would much rather drive the extra distance to my favorite Thai place in West Mesa.
Sorry,I wanted it to be great, but it was meh at best.

7/6/24: stopped in for a late lunch this particular Saturday. There was plenty of parking, and only one other patron inside. We interacted with one female staff person (and a few young kids, who we assume are learning the restaurant business). Ha! The food was plentiful and pretty good, but all three of us agreed it is not a place we will return to, largely due to the Thai tea and black sticky rice dessert (that was not black).
There was some pretty cool decor inside, but it also seemed a bit chaotic inside, although the woman did say they were renovating. Behind our table there were a few empty fish tanks, and another one came in while we were eating.
When I reached down to the floor to pick up my napkin, it was pretty dirty down there, and the wall beside us could have used a good cleaning.
None of us drank the water after my initial taste (don't think it was filtered, but tap; definitely bad taste). The Thai tea definitely could have been better: was not as flavorful as other restaurants' and frankly appeared to be watered down. All three of us thought was likely due to the low quality of the milk used.
The appetizers (tofu tempura, crab rangoon, isarn pork sausage) were all well flavored; the tofu nice and crispy, sausage well spiced.
The Massaman curry & Samurai Pad Thai were both good, and large portions. In fact, I had the curry for the next four days' lunch. The plates & bowl were huge and took up a lot of space on the table, making us having to shuffle & combine stuff together to make more room.
The black sticky rice with mango also was not was we were hoping to get. It was not black rice, and again, I think the coconut milk was inferior (which may also have accounted for the different flavoring). The entire dessert did not have the sweetness we are used to experiencing at other Thai restaurants, which was a bummer.
All in all, the staff (and her kids) were super nice and all smiles, and if it were not for the less-than-great Thai tea and black sticky rice, Djan's would have received at least a four-star rating. But the tea and sticky rice are two very key elements for a wonderful Thai experience (for us anyway), and we simply did not get that at Djan's.
Parking: It's a strip mall so plenty of parking is available.

Thai lover here. We judge most Thai restaurants off the bat by their satay and their soup. I will say the tom kha was above average around here IMO. More content, big veggies, good flavor. However, the satay was not good, extremely dry and stringy, with a kind of bitter flavor to it. Maybe from dry ginger powder? Really not sure.
The pad see ew was supposed to be in a "sweet soy" sauce, but there was no sauce at all. It seemed like the chef forgot to add the sauce. But the noodles and vegetables were cooked well. The ginger entree and garlic entree were ok. Not enough meat in either, IMO, to justify the price. And I couldn't find any mushrooms in the garlic entree, as advertised on the menu description.
Everything was packed and labeled well, our order was ready on time, and the service was friendly and location convenient. I hope they take feedback and work to improve because I do think a lot of easy fixes would make this a much better restaurant, but I'm not sure we'll try this place again when there are so many other options.

No sure how this place got good reviews. 1st, The presentation was good. Super excited....but the food was inedible. It's been a while that I would go to a restaurant and can't eat the food. Had to go somewhere else. Not even sure if this is considered Thai food.
2nd, The place was not clean at all. The wait staff was cleaning the tables. After that, without washing hands, I saw her hand wash cups and put them up ready for use without using the dishwasher with sanitizer. On top of that, she was coughing, sneezing and had a runny nose and touching ready to use water cups. I paid close attention and didn't see her wash her hands once. The cahsier (may be the owner?) sat there, playing with his phone 5 feet away and not even pay attention to what's going on. I hope they improve it I won't go back to try again.

Idk how people are giving this place good ratings. I ordered $100 worth of food here, and it was the plainest, soggy, bland Thai food I have ever had. There literally no color to the noodles.

Been here twice now and the food is very flavorful. We had the pineapple fried rice, orange chicken, yellow crispy noodle curry and garlic lover (not in the photo). The second time I had the panang curry which was also delicious. We got two stars which was the perfect amount of spicy where we could still taste the flavors of each dish. The staff is very friendly and on point. You're missing out if you haven't been here yet!
