Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

Excellent dinner for our party of nine. Great service and the food was really good. Lobster queso, steaks and sides were very good.

Have had previous good experiences at Firebirds, Gilbert Az but not sso last night. Ordered the Firebird's Spicy Chicken pasta (first time). Although it said "spicy" did not expect blow the top of you head off spicy. It also had a looong lasting after taste. One and done. Also, our server was very poor. Ordered a second beer and waited and waited. We were ready for check when the beer arrived and she wanted to point the blame at the bartender but you could tell it sat there for some time. It was a full house and the noise level kept us from being able to have a reasonable conversation. all in all, it was a bust.

We had a disappointing birthday dinner for my husband. The food took so long to prepare that over an hour and 15 minutes after arriving when we still didn't have our food I had to just tell them to box mine up and I'd leave to go pick up our son from an event. I missed most of the dinner once it actually arrived for the remainder of the family. A family member's steak was significantly undercooked even after all of the food delays. The waitress was not friendly from the start and we had to ask for waters for the table. I ended up getting my salad to go and eating at 9pm by myself at home after having a 6:30 pm reservation at Firebirds. My salad was missing some ingredients when I got home. I had ordered a different salad dressing and no cheese because I cannot eat dairy, but no one at the restaurant told me that other ingredients would also need to be removed. It was mostly just chicken chunks and lettuce. We noted it was a birthday celebration on the Open table reservation and during the hour and 15 minutes that I was there no one on staff mentioned the birthday. The manager evidently took off most of the meal costs after I left the dinner and gave us a free cheesecake to go (I missed the dinner and he knew I can't eat dairy...) so it is great the manager took responsibility for all of the mishaps, but it was still very disappointing and we will not be celebrating any more special dinners at this Firebirds location.

Firebirds is just a very comfortable restaurant. The atmosphere is upscale without being pretentious or stuffy. The food is excellent and the wait staff are polite, attentive and friendly.

Good choices from the menu. This was our first opportunity to dine at this restaurant and we were not disappointed.

I thought the food was late getting to our table - almost 40 minutes. I also noticed the amounts are much smaller than usual.

Unfortunately I don't feel it was worth the money. The meals were nothing special. I ordered the fire grilled salmon with lobster fondue and my guest had the full rack of baby back ribs, both were overly salty. There was nothing that made me say “this is so good.” It really wasn't worth the price. Too bad I really hoped it would be great for my birthday lunch.

My steak was over-cooked and the "seasoned steak fries" were just plain meh fries.

I have been to many Firebirds and this is not a place that causes a call to review.

However! The Firebirds in Gilbert, Arizona is beyond par. This is an example of above and beyond service. We had no reservation but it was a special occasion, and they sat us so quickly and provided excellent service. That being said, the food was also SO good! There were a few minimal issues like slightly burnt edges, but seriously - this is a 10 out of 10 for the food price point. The service and quality overall are beyond the best bang for your buck. Bruno was our server and Chris was the manager that stepped up to help when I spilled something. These two gentlemen were most of the reason our experience was so positive. If awards are to be given, then please ensure these two are recipients!

We had a delightful time and a wonderful meal. The food was delicious and the service was spectacular. Courtney was attentive and made great food recommendations when asked. Chris, the Floor Manager, came to our table so we could share our experience with him and he was welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back!
