Eat at your own risk, I ordered sushi here and received mostly sticky rice. I had better sushi at any local grocery store. This place has overpriced cafeteria food. Not sure why Kona is serving this type of food. I will never go back again.

Welcome to my review. I am a Godly Man and Navy Veteran who loves great food and service. I give a fair review and my view of the experience. This is only one side and my experience. Your experience maybe different, so share it.
This place is awesome. Staff is great and amazing from the way they treated us from the start to the end. Everyone is smiling and willing to help out. The carrot cake is made in house. IT'S THE BOMB

Biggest regret I ever made in my life. I recently ordered an Asian salad and I was in for a great surprise. They served me fast food quality salad. I ordered protein to go with my salad and received gas station style food. The pieces of chicken were small and was unbelievably dry. This restaurant was really good many years ago and is not the same. Stay away from Kona Grill! They charged me $50 for a salad with 2 options of protein. I can buy something much better at a local grocery store. The food quality is at the lowest and the prices are inflated to the max!!

I went to this location tonight and I hope the kitchen was having an off night or something. The place was empty when we got there and we waited a couple of minutes to be seated which was fine until things kept getting worse. Waiting aside the service was fine and our server was okay. The food on the other hand is what i would expect from a public school attempting to serve Japanese/Asian food. The shrimp tempura (which is $22 btw) was obviously a bag of frozen shrimp from a grocery store but like baby shrimp and there were approximately 10 teeny tiny shrimp on the plate. the potstickers were fine (also from a freezer bag). The steak and fries was $30 and could’ve only fed an infant. The spicy crunchy tuna roll was just simply disgusting and the las vegas roll was almost equally as bad. Nothing tasted fresh and none of it was with the $200 bill at the end. Also drinks from the bar were pretty good.

My daughter and I went for dinner tonight. The calamari and sushi rolls were pretty good.
The service was terrible.
The $15 cheesecake is tiny.
Everything there is overpriced for what you get. Don’t recommend.

We went there on Valentine’s Day! Th ambience was terrible! Outdated furniture and the environment was just not pleasant! I asked my boyfriend to leave but he said we already are sitted so let’s just eat here and go somewhere else after.
The food was over priced, like $8 more to add chicken to a pasta that is $40. Food tasted mediocre at best. A roll of sushi was $25
Honestly we couldn’t wait to get out of there! Don’t recommend going there at all. If you gonna have outrageous prices at least have a better food quality and atmosphere!

We ate at this restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles. Who would be happy with one small dry piece of chicken and waffles? Including the tip, who would want to pay almost $30 for that?

Our friend’s dish was half inedible because it was undercooked. I ordered sushi, which wasn’t terrible, but honestly Safeway sushi is better and this cost three times as much. It was overall worse than fast food and even fast food restaurants wouldn’t screw up this bad.

Later, we were asked to share our experience so I called. The manager lady was attentive and understanding and promised us a full refund. We felt better.

…and almost 3 weeks passed. Refund never happened 🤷‍♀️ Really?

Update: It turns out they refunded someone else instead lol Updating the review since they at least processed the refund. Considering the quality of the food we received and how many times they’ve messed up, we still won’t be going back.

Person at the front wearing glasses @ 6:35 pm 2/13 is not only sarcastic but had me wait and extra 45 mins after my reservation time and stated “it’s valentines people are eating”

For the price, this food was not good. Just go to the keg next door. Completely forgettable.

Very disappointed! Sat down for 15 minutes even though the restaurant was empty before anyone acknowledged we were there. We asked the server to fix the sunshade because we were roasting in the sun at the only table that would fit my kid'swheelchair. She rolled her eyes, rudely walked away and never came back.

We sat for 15 minutes before someone came to help us, and when we asked to close the sunshade we got an eye roll and she never came back.

Sadly, not a good attitude from the staff. I saw an Uber eats driver be kind and patient with them, and in return, they gave nothing but attitude.

Our server was fantastic, but the rest of the Kona Grill experience has gone greatly downhill the past few months. They changed their Happy Hour menu so our $3 Truly's are no longer offered, leaving just a couple crappy beer choices for that price, or weak cocktails at the $6 or $9 HH price. Portions on the HH food have shrunk, and it's ridiculous how they replaced the popcorn chicken with 2 chicken strips oddly served over 2 cold golf ball size mashed potatoes scoops- we made the mistake of ordering them last time & wont again, and watched 3 other tables order them and all left the gross potatoes. We had planned to do brunch last week but learned they not only removed nearly every brunch entree (there's like 3 left) they increased the price of the assorted flavor mimosas from $3 to $9! Who on earth would pay $9 for a single mimosa?! The rest of their regular menu is so overpriced for a chain average restaurant you'd think looking at the prices it was a high end restaurant. We only went yesterday to redeem my $25 half birthday certificate but going forward for the birthday rewards in their shared program but going forward we'll plan to drive to use at Ra Sushi or STK Steak for a better experience.

That is the lowest quality steak ever. Why would you charge so much for this peice of garbage?
