My friends went and I am GLAD that I did not go with them. Their experience was so bad! The sushi dishes were almost flavorless. They were disappointed the most with the service and one of the lady servers was so very rude with them. I wish they could improve their customer service so everyone can get a better experience at their restaurant.

The sushi was overpriced and underwhelming. The fish didn’t taste fresh, and the rolls fell apart too easily. Service was slow, and the atmosphere felt more like a cafeteria than a sushi bar. Wouldn’t recommend.

We were really excited to try Masa Sushi, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. We ordered sushi, expecting fresh and delicious flavors, but instead, it tasted like rotten fish—completely inedible. Hoping for something better, I also got a salad with chicken, but the chicken was horribly overcooked and had a terrible taste.

When we brought this up to our server, her response was shockingly unprofessional. Instead of addressing the issue, she just said, “I can’t do anything about it, I’ll just take the salad.” On top of that, she actually told us we couldn’t leave a bad review! When we made it clear that we didn’t want to continue the conversation because of her rude attitude, she showed no respect for our opinion at all.

Terrible food, even worse service. Definitely not coming back.

Horrendous Experience – Steer Clear!

I wish I could unsee and untaste what I encountered at this establishment. The sushi was atrocious—the fish didn’t taste fresh, and the rice was overcooked and gummy. We couldn’t bring ourselves to eat more than a bite, yet the staff arrogantly refused to remove the uneaten items from our bill. Their dismissive and hostile attitude only added insult to injury.

The cleanliness of the restaurant is equally appalling. Sticky tables, grimy floors, and a general sense of neglect made me question the hygiene standards of the entire place.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of other sushi spots that value their customers and maintain basic cleanliness.

Avoid at All Costs – Worst Sushi Experience Ever!

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. This was, hands down, the worst sushi experience I’ve ever had. The food was absolutely inedible—completely flavorless, old, and just plain disgusting. We literally didn’t touch our plates after the first bite, yet they refused to take it off the bill. The staff was beyond rude, acting like it was our fault their food was terrible.

On top of that, the place is filthy. The tables were sticky, the floors looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in days, and I don’t even want to think about what the kitchen must look like. Health inspectors need to take a visit ASAP.

Save yourself the disappointment (and possibly food poisoning) and go anywhere else.

Had to have my man wrap my hair tie around my chopsticks so I could use them 😂 food was fantastic, we were seated right away & the service was great! Highly recommend.

At first I was overjoyed to find out Masa hadn't died with the old Chandler location. This one's out of my way but getting to taste that saba mirin again would be well worth it. Was seated and like half the menu had disappeared. Nowhere else offers pork belly king oyster mushroom skewers like Masa Chandler had. Best beer snack I've ever had. Please consider bringing back the izakaya menu. Not exaggerating, if it returned I'd eat here every weekend.

I hate to have to do this but it was earned. We came so close to leaving I was getting ready to stand up and the waitress finally came back. I wish we would have because the food was not good. The worst part was the eel sauce. They weren't busy the waitress was just playing on her phone over in the corner.

Great little sushi shop outside of downtown Gilbert. The energy roll is probably one of the best maki rolls I've ever had.
