Petersen's Ice Cream and Cafe

Did a late night walk in Gilbert and went to Peterson's. Cute place. Fast prompt service. Very friendly. I'll be back!

Staff was cool as hell. Let me try a couple samples without acting like I was wasting their time. I still overthought it like a clown, but they kept it friendly and helpful the whole way.

The ice cream? Damn good. It’s not trying to be fancy, just straight up tasty. You’re not gonna cry from joy or anything, but it hits the spot and makes you want to come back.

Great little date spot or a solid move if you’ve got kids and want a win. Chill vibe, good people, and no regrets unless you skip it.

I’m not the first or the last to say this… but yum! We love Petersen’s Ice Cream. It’s such a cute location and every flavor we’ve tried has been sweet perfection.

We were Turned away last evening at 9:25pm, because our group of 5 was too large, however the two customer behind us were served. We will be go back again.

Delicious ice cream and a very kid-friendly atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Cookie skillet sundaes, milkshakes, cones. So yummy! Cute shoppe. A little pricey, but a fun outing! Menu is significantly smaller than it was.

A/C is ice cold and the ice cream is delicious. Duck in and cool off with a sweet treat!

Located on Gilbert Road, plenty of free parking options all around, you can sit outside at this location or inside. They play accurate time period music, have a great decor, and is an all around beautiful location. They have great prices as far as ice cream goes, I think I remember 1 scoop is around $4.60 / 2 scoops is $5.90 / 3 scoops $6.90 - close to around those prices. That's pretty good for high quality scoop ice cream, the scoops themselves are medium sized. I tried the sea turtle ice cream I think it was, amazing flavor, great consistency.

Bathroom situation was as expected from a location that serves children, it looked as if children had used it. I let the person working know, she went and took care of it relatively quickly for being the only person working during a busy Friday afternoon.

Critical details like the glass on the front doors seems worn and dirty, also appeared as if one door wasn't working, some of the chairs and tables have some wear and tear about them, the seating situation is workable, they do have a comfortable cushioned bench along the wall and movable chairs/tables.

Great location, will be back in the future.
They also have fudge!

We enjoy stopping at unique ice cream shops. This one is very cute, and the exterior large cone stationed to greet you is genious, as are the cute cones hanging from the ceiling. I also like the idea of a warm chocolate chip cookie a la mode. What I didn't care for was many of the ice cream bins were nearly empty and looked pretty soupy, making me hesitant to choose those flavors. The other part was 3 employees huddled together talking when said bins needed changing out and dirty tables to boot. The servers were pleasant and polite, ice cream was so-so.

Best Ice Cream in Gilbert! The Lemon Ice is fantastic for my fellow non-dairy peeps, but the new "Dole Whip Pineapple" is insane! I also think 100 plus years in the business means they're doing something right!

Terrible staff

Went in on 9/15/24 at 3:40pm and was greeted by 3 employees slouched on the counter staring at me with no words spoken. Its a lot to ask for good customer service now days, I get it. Surely $20 an hour isn't enough to say "hello, welcome in". Guess I'm asking for a lot.
