Sign said last day was June 30, 2018. I stopped by on 7/3/18 to see a sign on the door and the business dark. Apparently, they weren't doing very well as they completely closed the store. No explanation, just that they are closing their doors for good and their last day was June 30. I guess with all the problems they have had, people were making one trip to their location and that was it. I'm not surprised they finally closed for good, I'm just surprised it took this long. I thought when they were closed by the health department, they wouldn't last much longer, turns out they lasted a few more years. Don't waste your time going here, they are closed.

Great Italian ice. Just wish you could see the flavors online before getting there. You can call...but what a pain.

I had no idea this place was here. Some family from out of town recommended the franchise to me, so I thought I would check it out. Asked inside and they told me they have been around for 5 years. No idea it even existed. My go to flavors are cotton candy and mango. Consistency and flavor are on point.

Tasty frozen treats for a great price! I always get the gelati with the vanilla custard and one of their fruity ices. I usually get mango since they seem to consistently have that flavor, but raspberry and dragon fruit are definitely my favorites. Service is quick and always friendly. There is not a lot of seating though, so plan on taking it to go if you're with a larger group.

Rita's is the place to go for the best tasting Italian ice around. I just wish there was one in East Mesa, but I will go to the one in Gilbert for now. I love them.

The best around for water ice. Always clean and friendly. Prices have gone up slightly but that could be due to the cost of being so close to the college. The rent has caused a lot of businesses in the area to close.

If I could give this place a zero star I would. Let me start by saying before my experience I was a fan of Rita's. I went in yesterday with my family to get Rita's and after getting home and eating half of my Italian ice I noticed a HUMAN NAIL! Yes a finger nail in my ice!!! I took it back got a refund and wrote to customer service telling them my experience, as to how I was disgusted etc. I get written back saying it must be something else like a "splinter" from a lemon! Splinters from lemon don't have finger nail polish on them!!!! I am so pissed off by them not talking this serious so here is my review! If you like your ice with a hint of finger nail Rita's is your place!

I was down visiting family, I work in California in the summer and usually spend a lot of my off months down with my family, I always love the ice its never been off tasting it's always consistent, but the service.... is definitely not I believe I was serviced by a guy named Chris if I'm right and he was incredibly high and his service was terrible, the kids are usually in the back on their phones or something because once you've paid boom they're gone. I won't be going back to any Rita's the product is good but that once experience ruined it for me, the business doesn't have even a decent name for themselves in my mouth now, if you wanna get high do it at home don't come to work and look stupid just my two cents and thought I'd leave it here

We love Italian ice so we come here often and have gotten know a lot of the staff. The staff is friendly and truly wonderful but the owner not so much. We were there once and the staff was happy and being playful with my kids. My daughter couldn't decide between chocolate chips or chocolate sauce (and I had told her I'd pay for one add in) so they asked me for permission and the gave her both (they recognized us and knew we came in often). The owner came out from the back and tapped the staff on the shoulder and said "tell her that will be 69 cents". The entire staff seemed more stiff, official and uncomfortable with the owner around. The staff member looked at me with pain and told me it would be 69 cents for the treat she just added. I paid the total and left her a great tip. I'm fine with paying for extras we choose and don't ask for freebies, but I do appreciate the staff's attempt to recognize our loyalty with a little something extra. Too bad the owner was more worried about his 69 cents. :( My only other feedback is they close at 9, even on Friday and Saturday. So nights like tonight when we arrived at 9:15, we end up making our way to Bahama Bucks instead.

I wanted to love this place since we live so close! Not a ton of sugar free choices which is a bummer! They only make one a day! But other than that the Italian ice is yummy!

We enjoyed Rita's however if you are looking for maximum flavor in Italian Ice give Joe's Italian Ice I. Tempe a try. They are a little more expensive but the flavor of the ice makes up for it. Be brave and go for to Joe Latti and don't forget to get your rewards card.

This ritas is the closest to my house and the only one around practically. It's hard to go inside and get immediate service because the kids are usually in the back and never hear the door. When they finally figure out someone's inside their pretty alright. The cotton candy ice is what I go there for and buy the big pints of. Chocolate icee is my favorite too but they barely ever have it! I feel like if your going to own a ritas store then it's necessary to have the chocolate! I'm from jersey and the one in freehold always has chocolate! Like everyone knows chocolate icee is like the number 1! When they have it the girl says it's gone within the day, doesn't that mean you should maybe have it as an everyday thing?

Walked into Rita's tonight at 7:30pm, there was no one in sight, finally 2 girls came out from the back room and took our order, they acted put out the whole time, we tried making small talk and asking questions about the flavors, they were unhappy and not helpful at all!!! We live in Queen Creek so it's a drive to get to the Rita's in Gilbert and to be treated poorly was very disappointing. I guess we'll have to find a QC business to support.

We got 3 frozen custards in waffle cones and a milkshake for $20. The custards were chocolate, twist, and vanilla and the milkshake was chocolate peanut butter. The cones were about the same circumference as a cake cone, so smallish for a waffle cone, and the amount of custard was equal to that of a single scoop at a typical ice cream shop. The custards were really smooth and good, but definitely not worth the price. I would much prefer the ice cream shop in Old Town with fresh, still warm waffle cones and delicious ice cream for half the cost. We won't be back.
