I think I found my new go to sushi spot close to home with awesome service and happy hour every day. The happy hour rolls are full size and packed with flavor and the staff was super attentive even giving us a free roll after a small mistake so I cannot wait to go back.

This is the sushi spot of choice for years. Its always fresh, and the cucumber salad is one of my favorites.

Sushi Ave is one of those rare, quiet gems that somehow never gets mobbed—and that’s a blessing. If you want solid sushi without waiting an hour or paying Scottsdale prices, this is the spot.
The rolls are delicious, generously sized, and consistently fresh. I usually go for the sashimi, and it never disappoints—clean, fresh, and done right.
Because the place is almost never packed (usually just a few tables at a time), service is fast and attentive. You’re not waiting forever for food or drinks. And on the rare occasion something gets messed up? They fix it immediately, no attitude.
I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. Ownership has changed, but the quality hasn’t—and that says a lot. Reliable, affordable, and legit sushi.
Highly recommend. Five out of five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

My husband and I have come here consistently for the past few years and love(d) this place! Unfortunately it seems they are under new management and it has become a place we won’t be going back to. I placed an order today that said would be ready at 6:15pm (1 hr from the time I placed the order). I received a text 15 minutes later saying my food was ready. Because of the timing, I called to ask if the food could be kept fresh until the original pickup time. For context, the order was for one roll. The lady I spoke to on the phone was VERY kind. The lady yelling at her in the back and talking negatively about me however was very unprofessional and rude. Suffice to say they refused to make sure it was kept fresh or remake the food and instead voided the order saying I “should” receive a refund though they weren’t certain. Overall, it was a very strange and disappointing experience, especially compared to how great this place used to be.

Best chicken katsu ever. Also had ultimate dragon, jalapeno, suns and spicy garlic tuna roll, all were fabulous. Highly recommend ❤️

Rarely do I leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience especially since sushi is not inexpensive and diners should receive what they pay for. I’m a frequent patron of Sushi Rock & Grill, but since it’s a bit farther away, I decided to give this place a try.
I ordered the lobster tempura roll and a spicy tuna roll. I quite literally had to use my phone’s flashlight to find the lobster in the roll, it was overwhelmingly crab instead. The tempura also lacked the crunch and quality I’ve come to expect. The spicy tuna roll was equally underwhelming, and the spicy mayo (which is an extra charge) was honestly not good at all.
Overall, I was very disappointed. The quality did not justify the price, and I would recommend choosing another option if you want your money to go further. To make matters worse, the restaurant had an unpleasant odor upon entering, which only added to the negative experience.

Great food! Great service! I went here yesterday for the first time and I was incredibly impressed. It’s been difficult to find good sushi unless it’s next to a coastal area but this place is the way to go. It’s a great atmosphere and don’t forget to check out the happy hour on the hour!

I've eaten there about 4 times. The food is really good. However, the service is strange. The girls barely speak. No one smiles, no one says hello. Had 5 ppl with me last time, asked for an extra plate & she didn't want to give us one...strange. one of my friends asked her what her name was, it looked like it scared her, she asked him why? The ppl that cook never crack a smile. I'd say there is no atmosphere, however there is a stifling, unfriendly atmosphere. We won't be back.

Sunday night, 7pm, happy hour, no wait. We were one of two tables taken. Menu prices were 30% more than website advertised. Rolls were good. 6 pc. Sashimi was salmon and tuna only, and the tuna was cut so thin there was holes in it. Bill was brought to the table before we finished and we weren't even asked if we wanted anything else. I asked to speak to the manager or owner and was told no one like that was there. I offered to leave my name & number to discuss, but was told the owners don't speak english and it wouldn't matter. So disappointed..
3 stars because the rolls were good, one star otherwise..

The sushi rolls are affordable, happy hour being all day every day except holidays. I do believe they keep the prices of the happy hour items down because 75% or more of the menu items are crab mix and shrimp-based. The Las Vegas and spicy tuna rolls were good as well as the bulgogi fries.
Unfortunately 12 hrs later, we are experiencing symptoms of food poisoning, and the to-go box we took home smelled rancid a few hours later.
Because of the food poisoning and smell of the raw fish going bad so quickly, we will not be going back.

Horrible, horrible experience here. 0 stars! When we arrived, it was busy but still empty tables. We were given a menu and then we sat and waited and waited and waited to be acknowledged. We were about to get up to leave when someone finally came and took our order. We ordered 4 different rolls and chicken and beef teriyaki for our entrees. We have a special needs daughter who is tiny and doesn't eat very much so we ordered off the kids menu for her. We also ordered her a kids drink but were told we couldn't because she looked older than 8. I thought that was odd but whatever. The sushi came and it was good--nothing outstanding by any means. Our entrees came with soup and salad. We received the soup and then someone other than our waiter, dropped off the check. We were confused because we hadn't yet received our salad or our main entrees. So then we sat and waited and waited and our waiter came out and told us that our order was canceled because we ordered a kids meal for our daughter and she wasn't 8. We were dumbfounded to say the least. She's 13 and tiny. It's not like we were committing some kind of fraud for crying out loud! They brought us the check and it was for $90. The sushi and the meals we were never given. So my husband says to bring the correct bill because we weren't going to pay for food we didn't eat. We sat there waiting again and out comes the waiter with our food minus the kids meal for our daughter (they still charged us for it) and minus the salads. We were again shocked because they told us our order was canceled. And we still didn't get the salads that were part of the meal. We were fed up at this point. My husband said to just bring the check for the sushi (we were also charged for drinks were never got) and the waiter refused. He said the manager said we had to eat and pay for the food. My husband was beyond angry at this point and asked to speak to the manager. The manager refused to come to our table and the waiter kept telling us we couldn't leave. My husband told the waiter to give us the correct check so we could leave. I have never experienced anything like this before in my life! What a horrible experience. We left feeling very disappointed and overall angry and confused. How can you treat customers like this? Even before the entire fiasco started, they kept trying to rush us. Who does that especially when you kept us waiting to even take our order. Obviously we will never come back here.

Not worth the visit. Got a shrimp tempura roll only for there to be no shrimp inside the tempura. Absolutely the rudest wait staff I’ve ever encountered in my life. Also did not get happy hour prices when supposedly happy hour is all day Sunday.
