Nothing special. Food is diner style, had a few special selections that looked tasty and the coffee was great. The breakfast meal was simple, no seasoning, and basic condiments. The blueberry pancakes were soaked in watery blueberry syrup that disintegrated the flat pancakes into mush. Environment was welcoming and quiet on a weekday. Overall impression, plain, simple, uneventful, with good coffee and friendly service.

I've never been here so I won't speculate on the food but on the weekends this place is always packed so I assume it's good. My only issue with the place is that everyone in attendance doesn't know how to drive. The parking lot is full yet you'll have 37 blind people looking for thus one magical spot they think is going to open up. Cars backed up onto Gilbert Rd and every other surrounding street. It's simply horrendous. Save yourself some time and just go to First Watch or Broken Yolk or something...

It was so loud we couldn’t hear anyone at our table talking.

The cutest place with the best cinnamon rolls. Our server Renae was super friendly and made us feel at home

This place is trying to be a “like your grandma’s” restaurant, but it is pretty mediocre. Furniture is old and scuffed, food very average at the best. We’ve been here a few times, but won’t be back. Waitress was uninterested and seemed to just want to go home.

Great atmosphere quick seating in the food was pretty fire. I got the country fried steak biscuits and gravy and the banana Walnut pancakes. Food was definitely fire. The Staff everyone really welcoming and friendly it was really like a family style environment from our server McHale to the manager Olivia. Definitely would recommend the peach tea as well. We'll definitely be making it regular.

The food is good and prices are reasonable. The service was a bit slow but the servers are friendly and pleasant. This is actually an old farmhouse. It's a bit cramped inside but is has outdoor sitting.

We loved it, from the food to the service to the building and surrounding area with other little businesses.

It was very tight for a restaurant. If the house was bigger then my claustrophobia wouldn't have been a problem.

Really wanted to like this place, and will try again another day, but based on this time, not impressed so far. Very short wait time. Had the fall menu french toast which was sadly cold, butter didn't even melt. (Pic shows unmelted butter, thats not whip cream) It was just ok, it was a chunk of bread that they maybe did an egg wash on the one side and put it on the griddle. Great sauce over it though. It was a carmel sauce and that was tasty. Without sauce would have been 1 star.
Loved the vibe of the place and this is why I want to try it again. Just don't let them seat you at the first 2 person table when you walk in. It's an older place, so the floors are bouncy! Every time someone walked by I'd be bouncing. After 20 minutes, I was done and didn't want to be there anymore. Very annoying.
Great little patio, plan to sit there next time. Hopefully that will be better.

We have been to Gilbert House Restaurant many times and have had great food and service. However, today's breakfast was different. Something was off. It took much longer to get our food, some of the food was cold and it lacked flavor. I hope they figure it out soon.

I thought it was such a cute little brunch or breakfast spot. The whole house being a restaurant aesthetic was really cool and well done. The service was super good and they were very nice. The only thing is they can get extremely busy so just be aware or that and the waits can be a tad long.
