booking through the website was easy and they were upfront about how the night would go. great time for new years!
We had dinner, drinks & played Trivia on NYE. The place was pretty festive, our server was fantastic and the nachos & burgers were delicious. We love the Porch, we come here during the week for lunch.
Extensive food menu. Didn't like the 20% auto gratuity for parties over 6. Sadly it's very unfair to the wait staff. Food was ok! Fries were cold
I normally love The Porch in Gilbert, but was disappointed last night. We ordered Buffalo Cauliflower and the taste was fantastic. The only problem was there were only about 8 small florets of cauliflower. I assumed for $12 there should have been a much larger portion. I was truly surprised. I'm not sure if they were understaffed, but our server was only helpful if we called her to the table. Self service from beginning to end could have been faster. We'll try them again in the future, but it won't be anytime soon.
1st time. Worried as we walked in for our reservation. It was loud, Gilbert Chamber gathering. Then asked to be reseated to quieter area. Our gal was fantastic, very engaged in telling us about our dishes and directing to good options. Checked on us 3-4 times. Summary, started with a 1 but ended with a 9.
Food was great, as was service. Tv volume too loud to have a decent conversation tho. Was a young lady sitting at the bar who fell off her bar stool, twice. I would hope the bartender and establishment is not responsible for selling her the liquor to get her in that shape and is feels a responsibility for patrons not getting enebriatred
Feel it makes no sense why a large party cant have separate checks. Food was a little disappointed and waitress was not very attentive
It was a cool and rainy evening - glad I dressed for it because it was absolutely freezing in the restaurant! The extremely large fan above us was on for some reason and made our food cold pretty quickly. Food was very good - fresh and priced well for the portion sizes. Had it stayed warm, it would have been excellent. Service was okay - it didn't seem that busy but our server disappeared for 10-15 minutes at a time after stopping at our table. First time here - not sure if we'll return- not really our “vibe”.
A must visit spot when youn are in Downtown Gilbert, nothing negative about this fine eatablishment !
I just had the Hot Honey Burger — I think that’s what it’s called, since the syringe has hot honey in it. I believe it’s the same as the AZ Burger, just with the honey added. Very tasty overall, but the bun could have been better.
Now, on to the service — which I’d rate a D. Let me preface my review by saying that I managed a bar in South Milwaukee decades ago, where we always strived to provide great service. So, service is my pet peeve. This is especially true when I’m sitting at the bar, as I was tonight, only to experience the opposite. In fact, there were people on both sides of me who stated they felt the same.
The bartenders didn’t acknowledge guests with a simple “hello, I’ll be right with you.” It took forever just to get a drink menu and beer. Once I finally had that, there was another long wait before anyone took my food order. I also had to flag someone down to get another drink. Meanwhile, I saw multiple bartenders just hanging out — sometimes with their backs turned to the horseshoe of customers. Why are they not paying attention to the very people who determine their paychecks — the customers and their tips?
A good bartender always keeps a sharp eye on everyone at the bar. They should be able to carry on conversations while still promptly acknowledging and serving guests.
It amazes me that some bartenders haven’t figured out that their income directly correlates with the quality of service they provide. It’s also worth considering why people sit at the bar in the first place — the two main reasons are faster service and the opportunity to socialize with others outside their party.
I encourage management to stand off to the side and simply observe. You’d think this would go without saying, especially since I assume manager pay or bonuses are tied to nightly sales. Slow service means lower sales.

If I could give this place a negative star, I would not only was service terrible, later that night for drinks, I caught something in my drink, it definitely was a DR drug, and the place did NOTHING about it. Watch out for your drinks EVERYWHERE.
Especially. Gilbert.
I’ve heard COUNTLESS stories from that happening to so many people.
Service was outstanding, food was mediocre at best -disappointing. Despite little reservation availability when booked, the place was pretty empty. Waitress went above & beyond to deal with some food availability issues.
The Porch is a great hangout spot in downtown Gilbert with a chill daytime vibe that turns lively at night. The food and drinks are decent, but it’s the fun crowd, great music and upbeat energy that really make it worth visiting.

First time, love this place. Sunday morning football and brunch!!! Food was amazing, all games on large TV's, staff was very friendly and attentive, definitely coming back. And, shout out to the young man (staff,) who liked my outfit, you made my day, and I need that! Appreciate you!!!
