I got the regular enchiladas, hardly any meat in it all...

The food was amazing, I've been going here since I was little. I would give 5 stars but not only my order but one of my family member also had a peice of hair in the food. Which is odd since this has never happend to me in the years I've been going there, perhaps it's one of their new employees.

Excellent Southwest Mexican cuisine. The service was great and the atmosphere was traditional, warm and peaceful.

Service was excellent. The room of the restaurant we sat in had popcorn ceiling with dust dancing off of it while the fan ran. Also the furniture was broken and extremely worn. It was filthy.
I chose a lunch combination meal that included a beef taco. It was not beef. I'm could not identify what it was but it was not beef.

Salsa was good... chips stale, presentation of plates messy, food had a lot to be desired. Ordered margaritas, they were canned margaritas of all things at a Mexican restaurant, at least should have stated that. Would I recommend, not compared to most Mexican restaurants. I say skip it. But on good note the waitress was nothing but nice.

This was my absolute favorite restaurant. I haven’t been there in years until the other day. It was to open at 10:30 but no one came to unlock the doors until a staff member came out and asked if we were going in. We told her the door was locked and she went back in and yelled out the door is locked and you have customers waiting. The door was unlocked at 10:50 am. The staff seemed in a rush. We ordered and the food came out quickly but I was not impressed with the rice and beans. My favorite was the adovada, it didn’t taste like it did before and the pork had a lot of fat. The salsa was also different. The food was hot and I love hot and spicy but it just wasn’t as delicious as it was all the many times I’d gone in the past.

If you're looking for Mexican food - this place is/was top recommended in town. Courtesy chips n salsa (mild or hot) provided. Food came out very quick, almost too quick - I must have ordered something that the kitchen had ready to go. The trio was generally good, and large proportions.

I eat here alot. I just spent a half hour trying to order food calling, being put on hold and then hung up on. I know there busy but to get put on hold then get hung up on is ridiculous. Me and my family are good regular customers and spend alit of money here! Anyone especially people who regularly support this home town restraunt shouldn't be treated this way!

Seeing the guy in the kitchen slinging liquid frijoles (I wouldn't call them refried) onto plates, more or less hitting his target...If I'd seen him through that window behind the register going in, I'd have understood the condition of the taco salad.

Six years ago Chalo's could hold its own vs. the Turquoise room. It was possibly the most authentic Sonoran in Arizona.

I do not know what happened to the place, but I would not eat there if I was paid to do so.
