The skirt steak at this Arizona restaurant was just ok- the restaurant got slammed at I’m sure the kitchen was overwhelmed- staff were pleasant but busy. , Tonight was a satisfactory dining experience. While it didn't quite reach the heights of excellence, the dish showcased a fair preparation of the meat. The steak had a good flavor though but it could have been more tender. And served medium as requested The accompanying sides were ok but not what was ordered. We wanted rice but got mashed potato’s. If you're seeking a straightforward, no-frills skirt steak option this was ok. Others at table had chicken in lemon sauce ok fish dish over rice- The seafood spaghetti was ok but minus the promised lobster- While it may not be the most exceptional culinary experience, it provides a option for friends to meet land have an satisfactory meal.

My husband and came in for an early dinner. He got the Mahi Mahi and I got the rack of lamb. Both were cooked very well and it was very enjoyable. We would definitely come again!

Service for lunch on Monday was extremely slow! French fries were barely warm. Patio was dark and noisy from the highway.

I was with 4 other friends for dinner last evening. I've previously been impressed with service, dishes, appetizers and drinks at Maria's Gathering Place. I was very disappointed as were my friends last evening. 3 of us ordered the special, Steak Diane which we were told by our server was a "filet" we all asked for medium rare. All 3 orders came well done and a Marsala sauce that tasted nothing like anything we've ever tasted. 1 friend ordered Ahi salad that came slightly cooked but not grilled, 2 friends ordered "manhattan" drinks that tasted watered down. 1 ordered a chicken dish that wasn't good either. Wine ordered was very 'ehh for their most expensive Cabernet!! All in all more of 2 star but I gave it 3 for an enthusiastic server.

5 months later and it's still one of my favorite places in green valley. My dad and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon around 1:30. We sat at the bar as we only were grabbing an appetizer and drink. We ordered the calamari and the puff pastry Brie. The one and only server for entire restaurant was on it. She gave us the happy hour menu which states 2-5 pm. However our check stated otherwise, but the food was so good I wasn't worried about a couple of dollars off. Their house wines are $4 during happy hour and $2 off appetizers. Our check only marked one glass as happy hour, so who knows. But the winner is the calamari rings. Oh my. So yummy. They are battered perfectly with a light seasoning and come out as rings so none of that thick, chewy weird center piece you sometimes get. The Brie was warm and gooey and paired nicely with the apples and bread. We also preferred a salted caramel piece of cheesecake and a tia mi su to go. Our service was great, but we were patient and in no rush. Another table was clearly frustrated and beyond rude to the lady working the entire restaurant by herself (btw- I heard them comp their meals and a sincere apology.) will be back again in a few months when back in town.

Reservations recommended. Inside atmosphere comfortable with additional seating on a covered patio. Attentive servers and staff that are happy to answer questions. Food well prepared and plated in a appealing way. Full bar but lacks draft beer however good selection of canned and bottled beer.

Love this little restaurant! Ate here last year while on a golf trip at Canoa Ranch. The food was so delicious that we came back again this year. the staff is very friendly and accommodating of our group of 8. Will be back again next year!

A delightful place to stop for great food, kind and helpful staff, and a great atmosphere for a little lunch or a little dancing on the veranda.

So this is not our first time at Maria's... perhaps half dozen times or so. Always had wonderful meals and great service. Ambiance - One of a few places in GV where the ambiance was pleasing with a very relaxing atmosphere... noise is minimal. Service - outstanding! Our server Matthew was awesome and very attentive. Food - well, that's a different story, I'm afraid. The lettuce in the side salad were wilted and brown so I hardly ate any of it. The cucumbers were mushy.Shrimp scampi pasta...The pasta was nice... hard to mess that up. The shrimp were good size but the flavor wasn't scampi so salty at first bite. I thought it was a fluke. Bit a second one and boy, morton salt must have been on sale!1/2 rack of ribs were nice and tender- fall off the bone but a couple of bites into it ... meat tasted like leftovers - like old. If you've ordered the chicken pot pie before, be advised that it's no longer prepared with puff pastry. Filling was served in a bowl and dough pastry slapped on top that was barely browned then sliced in an attempt to make it look like latticework. No, it's not flaky. Filling was bland. We joked that the season/salt was used for the shrimp. This might be a fluke. Different chef. Three of us agreed that this was such a let down. Only picture I have is that of the salad since it's the only visible proof of my review. Probably won't be back for awhile. Hope the owner is aware.

My last time at Maria's because of poor quality food. It used to be much better, maybe it has new owners.

Great meal. $30 special for 2. One appetizer to share, 2 entrées and 2 desserts. The Teriyaki chicken bowl was great and just enough.

It's a "Watering Hole" pure and simple. We had to eat somewhere the day before Cinco de Mayo and 40 miles from the Mexican Boarder. They had some specials pitched towards the Mexican holiday. They weren't that bad. Neither of us drink so it was a little bit awkward. As it was lunch time, we both had burgers which were good and cooked as ordered. The menu was very small. The kitchen was good and quick and the waitress was polite. I do not know if the small menu was an artifact of Cinco de Mayo. They are more pitched to "The Ladies Who Lunch" Regards, OldeBear

Food was average. Veggie wrap was subpar. Onion rings were wonderful!
