If you're looking for great seafood, this is not the place to go. My boyfriend and I have been contemplating going here for quite sometime and on a whim we decided to check it out one Thursday night. I ordered the calabash shrimp and broiled flounder, he got the broiled flounder, calabash chicken, and fried shrimp. The flounder was so incredibly dry (think National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation) that I could barely eat one filet and left the other. I don't know where they get their shrimp from, but it was 98% full of p**** They had definitely not been cleaned. His calabash chicken was fairly good but his flounder filet was equally as dry. I grew up going to fish camps and I have never been to one that has let me down as much as this place.
Delicious and plenty of food, great staff, fast and convenient, family friendly, large parties are welcomed
Read about great catfish so we went. Ordered catfish filets. Less than five minutes later our order was brought to the table. That says food is pre cooked and put on the cafeteria trays. I don’t need fancy but clean is necessary. The restroom was beyond disgusting. And duct tape to hold down floor mats? The bright spot of the experience was our server Joyce. True gem!!! Unfortunately, this one is a ??. I’m in no hurry to return.
This is definitely worth the effort to seek out and find. Located in the country away from the bustle of the city, this is one of the best seafood spots you will find I highly recommend the steamed crab legs and deviled crab. The Cole Slaw was extremely fresh and the baked potato was outstanding The service was top notch for the entire meal The serving are very large and generous
Food and service was great as it is most of the time. The only issue I have is not one employee was wearing mask. I’m ok with not requiring guest to wear coming in but it seems that you would want your employees wearing? If not for guest safety for their safety. You have lots of seniors dining here. There seems to be a little effort with social distancing but booths are being used back to back. I do love food and probably will not be back for safety concerns for a while at least. I thought about leaving after I sat but I decided to stay but probably wouldn’t have gone had I knew. I get it is hard being single restaurant in these times but wearing mask will at least show your trying. Salt and pepper and ketchup and tartar passed from table to table as well?
Best seafood in the Greenville/Spartanburg area. Their Grouper is delicious and the only fish my daughter will eat. Their pickled onions are a real treat! Hushpuppies and a baked potato are the perfect sides. Their shrimp weither fried or calabash is awesome. Our family has been enjoying Tadpole for years!! You truly won't be disappointed with your dinner here!! Their hours are 3-9 pm Thursday-Saturday.
