Yeah I'm sorry to say but their food has lost something. I've been in Maricopa for about 14 years now and way way back when. I can't remember exactly when. I ate their maybe a handful of times and it was excellent. Best biscuits and gravy I'd had in a long long time. And other food was good too but it's gone downhill. So if the owner sees this, if you want more people to come and pay for your food. Have your chefs fix. Whatever happened. Pay a little bit more to the back and people so it turns out better. I don't know. Just a thought because I miss coming there. And I'm sure a lot of people do
Just shut down and either start over or not. This place robs teenagers of a week's worth of work and doesn't pay them, rude manager, long wait time for cold gross food, rude servers, staff yelling at customers, nasty water, the list goes on. I'm surprised they are still in business!
Staff is extremely rude. Lack of customer service. Food is always delayed coming out.
this place is the best place ever! I went with my grandparents today and I got a spaghetti and meatballs(without the meatballs) and oh my god the bread was literally the best garlic bread I've had in my entire life! The seats are a bit ripped up and pale but it doesn't affect the food. The waitress charity(I think that's her name) was the funniest and most caring girl ever. She always made sure we had our drinks and always double checked to see how we felt about our food. thank you so much for this!
Ordered fish fry. Fish was cooked perfect. Onion rings were crispy. Coleslaw was warm- not good. My husband wanted cocktail sauce- you didn’t have any..Service was pretty fast. Waitress never came by to ask if everything was ok, or drink refill.
Bad service and food is not good. Look elsewhere for a decent dining experience in Maricopa.
Very good service but the food was not good. I had biscuits and gravy and they were awful! The biscuit was dry and crumbly. It tasted like a frozen one that had been warmed up. And the sausage patties were okay but the tasted like an already cooked sausage that was also warmed up. I added pancakes and they were actually really good. Nice and fluffy and fresh. Definitely the worst biscuits and gravy I've ever had.
Have visited here about 10 times, almost always for breakfast. Should’ve stuck to that.Went for lunch on 3/20/22. I sat at the counter and was greeted by an apathetic server, who seconds after shoving a menu in front of me, asked, “you know what you want?”As it happened, I did, and ordered a patty melt and fries. That was at 2:45 pm. My order didn’t arrive until 3:20 pm. The rye bread was literally blackened beyond recognition on the patty melt. My fries were cold. When I said to the server, “are you serious? It’s been over a half-hour and you give me my order with burnt bread?” She replied, “it isn’t burnt…”. as if my eyes were playing tricks on me. Unbelievable. In hindsight, I should’ve snapped a picture. Believe me when I say the rye bread was as black as charcoal.Bottom line, stick to breakfast and avoid the aggravation of trying to get a decent late lunch/early dinner at this place. My mom (rest in peace) was a server and a bartender for over 40 years. She’s rolling in her grave like a rotisserie chicken after my experience at the “new” Sunrise Cafe.
It took about 45 minutes to get our order. The waitress apologized and said that there was one order a head of us. The cook did entertain us with profanity while we were waiting though! The restaurant had one other table of two besides us! After waiting that long for the food, the patty melt was totally over cooked along with the fries. The sandwich was literally inedible. The second sandwich was a double bacon BLT with and upgrade from french fries to onion rings. The bacon which I had asked for it not to be over crispy was creamated! The onion rings were so brown that the onion inside was pretty much gone! The waitress did have the patty melt sandwich remade which was better but didn't even replace the fries. The pile bacon crumbles was left on the plate from the BLT. I passed on the to go box I was offered. LOL Don't waste your time with this place! On a positive note, the waitress was friendly.
Must have gone on a bad day. Most of the reviews I read were good. That said, all of our food was over cooked. I ordered eggs over easy but got them cooed to the point where the yokes were solid. The meat in the hamburgers also over done.Because of all the good reviews we will go back. I don't enjoy giving unsatisfactory reviews butust be honest.

This is what's left over of their Veggie omelet with added pineapple and bacon! Coffee and breakfast was great! They give filling portions and their prices are great! Not over priced. Definitely going to be coming here for breakfast when I'm in town! It's also a bar. So you can come and watch tv and chill out! Thank you!

It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review. I’m huge about helping local and family businesses but after returning here with my family over and over and over again crossing my fingers for a redemption, it did not happen. I recommend a new manager to take over and definitely some training for a few of the servers to better their performance when the owner isn’t around. Best of luck with the future of the business but unfortunately we will not be returning.
Came in on 2/14 for lunch and as my party of 3 walked in and stopped at the podium, we were greeted by the “manager” with “You’ll have to wait, we’re short staffed and busy”. A simple “be right with you” would have done. After a little wait and some more attitude from the manager, she seated us, took our drink order with a sigh and went to get our drinks. She set them on the table and told us our server would be over. After several minutes of sitting, and a front row seat to some screaming and cussing at another employee by the manger which included some door slamming, Chloe (hope I spelled it right) came over, apologized for the wait and took our order. The rest of our time at the cafe was a good experience because of Chloe. It’s rather sad when an adult, who’s supposed to be in charge, acts more immature than the younger employees working with them. The food was great and the portion size was worth the price.Chloe and Amanda are exceptional employees and are amazing with their customer service skills. Employees like them can take a not so great experience and turn it around quickly to make customers want to return.
This small restaurant/cafe is a Must!! While working a group of fellow drivers stopped here for breakfast. It was fantastic, food and service were exceptional!! The menu and prices were affordable and budget friendly. Portions were XL and prepared with skill. The staff was friendly and accommodating, my coffee never got cold and was always full. If your looking for a Quality restaurant at a great price go here, I promise you won’t regret it.
