Had dinner unfortunately it was not good at all. They changed the battery on the fish fry. It is terrible, could hardly find the fish. The frys tasted like they were made yesterday and the coleslaw was warm. Plus we waited almost an hour for the food. Should have sent it back but just wanted to leave. Won't be back.

I lowered my original review to 3 stars.
The main reason was lack of timely table service by our waiter (only waiter I saw). He was busting his ass butt, but there were just too many tables to service. He was apologetic. In past visits, this had not happened.
The food coming out was good , but it was not very timely, which made me think that the kitchen was understaffed. Our golfing guest was disappointed.

Large group so food not very hot but John, was terrific. 2 wait staff for 11 patrons is needed.

Once I get past the cost of golf in AZ in March I'm ok. I really enjoyed the course layout. I thought the greens, tees and fairways but were in very good shape. Started in 60 degree calm weather and ended in 25 mph rain 52 degrees, loved it. The last 3 holes were brutal but the course has some really nice holes. Of the 4 courses our group played last week The Duke is the one I'd like to play again. For anyone playing behind my 3 groups, apologies. A 4:10 round to me seemed like an eternity too.

I like the course layout. The greens were in great shape & putted about the right speed for me. The only complaint was against the greens keeper. Not a fair distribution of pin positions for joe public.

The course is in good shape. Pace is slow. The marshalls said that we should be done by Sunday. They are in no hurry to move people along. If u aren’t in a hurry good courses.

Met some friends here for dinner, friday night fish fry. They were golfing and loved the course. I have not been here since last Mother's Day because the quality of food, in my opinion, was low. I went in with an open mind since its a fish fry. Our server was nice and attentive. They did not have ingredients to make certain drinks. The tap water tasted very much like chlorine. I asked for bottled water instead and got a plastic bottle of Dasani. I wish they would try Mountain Valley at least for dinner service. That's when i knew the food would probably be disappointing. We waited 55 minures for fish fry and coconut shrimp. The cole slaw was lukewarm and dripping like it had sat out. The. Fries were also lukewarm and soggy like they sat too long in too much grease. I got griilled fish which was just ok. Not very succulent. More like frozen fish they reheated. Its such a nicely decorated place and a nice course from what I hear but if they are making any money, they are not putting it into their food quality and it shows. Maybe some people only know this type of food quality but for the price, maybe order some fresh food for dinner service and better training for the kitchen staff. its a great location and great to have a sit down restaurant in town, I hope it improves some day as far as food quality. We probably would have ordred more, like appetizers or another course to share, if we had a good experience in rhe first 10 minutes there. Lastly, we paid $5 for carrot cake and were provide with a sliver of cake. I'm not sure if that was intentional or poor training again. I look forward to trying it again in a few months or maybe under new management one day. I have high hopes that they care about this community and making it a place people want to bring their families to.

2nd time here. Food is mediocre.

The course is in good shape. The only problem was that the grounds keepers wouldn't get off the greens while we were playing! We told the lady in the pro shop at noon on Dec 31, but she didn't care at all.

Great track! Slow play, though, we had 2 fivesomes in front of us. They really shouldn't allow 5 golfers, especially the kind that won't play "ready golf".
I won't book here again, unless I hear from management.

Have you ever had breakfast with Jon H.? Let me paint you a picture of how it goes:

Joyce: I could really use some butter for my rye toast.
Jon H.: *hoarding the butter, seemingly not hearing Joyce*
Joyce: *eating an unsatisfying piece of toast with only jelly, still complaining about the lack of butter*
Jon H.: *generously slathering butter onto his pancakes while humming Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!"*

Breakfast in Maricopa? Why not! After a quick drive over the mountains and through the woods, we met up at this cute place on a golf course for breakfast. I ordered the Maricopa Omelet which has cheese, ham, and green hatch chiles in it. It was also served with some homestyle potatoes and some toast. It was a great breakfast and the weather was even nice enough to dine al fresco with a view of the golf course lake. So many cute ducks and geese wandered about and our waitress, Jill, kept the coffee mugs filled.

It's a great spot! I can see this place being enjoyed by the community and residents in Maricopa. Get some good eats here at The Duke!

Asked for beef nachos , no onions (appetizer), took them a while to come out. When they finally arrived, they had onions (im allergic). Sent them back. Waited another century. When I finally got them, they did not bring the side of sour cream and salsa (i don't eat the salsa) that comes with it. When I finally got the sides, the nachos were COLD. Been waiting for the check for about 15 minutes and still no help, no nothing.
Not trying to be that person, but can't help and wonder if it's my skin color. (I am hispanic) .
Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is the beautiful scenery.
