We had a wonderful surprise today. We drove from Bisbee to this winery. Took around 30 minutes to the middle of high desert. We were greeted by winemaker Evie. She presented us with 5 red tastings. All wines tasted were very good. The Malbec was excellent and our favorite. Definitely worth drive with her knowledge of wine as a bonus to the tasting.

When we pulled up to this vineyard, we had no idea to what to expect. But my eye was drawn to the beautiful landscape. You are surrounded by vines upon vines! And their beautiful dogs make it even better. . We got to the tasting room which is outside under huge shades and is definitely hidden away. The wine was delicious, and the company was even better. We sat down and got our ours right away, but getting to know the owners was even better. They are so friendly and it is definitely a must try next time you are out there.

The sweetest couple owns this vineyard! Came here with two friends and it was so fun! You have try the wine slushy! It's the best thing I ever had on a hot day!! Must visit if you are in the area!!

Great winery, gracious owners. Producing some memorable wine that is expressive of the southern AZ terroir. Particularly loved the Tannat and Malbec. Comfortable tasting area with great sunset views. Harvest Hosts so open to overnights from RVers. Worth a visit for tasting or a stay.

Cannot say enough fantastic things about our experience at High Lonesome Vineyard! At the recommendation of a local who gave us a card for HLV as we were passing through the area, Tom and Edie graciously accommodated a no notice request for a same day stop by the vineyard. Edie was an amazing and gracious host throughout, sharing she and Tom’s story of the vineyard, their service to our nation in the military and the labor of love that it is obvious running a vineyard had to be. Edie has an awesome sense of humor and was great throughout our visit to the vineyard. Tom was a tremendous communicator with exceptionally quick response time and follow up. If you are in the area and fall into any of these categories — want to meet great people, want to grow a greater appreciation for the wine making experience, want to enjoy a beautiful location, want to experience a great glass of wine or want to support Veteran owned (dual at that!) you can’t go wrong with a stop by High Lonesome Vineyards. An unexpected find for us now guarantees a stop on our travels anytime we’re in southern Arizona. Highly recommend this absolute gem!
