I love Vietnamese Coffee and I'm so grateful to have a vegan option in mesa. And it's really tasty! I believe it's condensed oat milk- crazy hehe Good amount of vegan bakery options. There were a few muffins when I got there. Very excited to try the breakfast sandwiches. Vegan egg and sausage options😄Mesa NEEDED a vegan breakfast sandwich option

They have great coffee drinks and there pastries are also delicious. I have always had a good experience with the service and enjoy the atmosphere at BAK&JO. I would recommend for anyone wanting to try something different than the same old Starbucks and Dutch bro's.

My wife and I found this place recently and enjoy the food and drinks. Dani has been our cashier both times we’ve been here, and she’s been very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast burrito is perfect, and having a gluten free wrap is good for those wanting that modification.

The spicy tofu burrito is one of my favorites! Updated from previous review on 2026-01-15
Great selection of vegan options for drinks, pastries, and burritos. Love that the vegan options are similarly priced to the non vegan items. The vegan version of the Vietnamese coffee was excellent - not too sweet and a nice earthy flavored coffee. The vegan sausage breakfast burrito was tasty (included vegan cheese, vegan egg, hash browns) and came with a great lil creamy, orange sauce on the side (can't remember what the sauce was but really good).

Some of the best matcha I've had since visiting Uji. Most places mess up the ratio of milk to powder in a matcha latte, but you absolutely get what you pay for here. I also loved the banh mi burrito, Thai tea, and macarons! Everything save for the baked stuff was made to order. I'll have to go back to try their pastries some time. The staff were very chill and welcoming, and the vibe was great inside with board games, a Christmas tree decorated with hand-drawn ornaments from customers, and plenty of seating (including a very comfortable couch). Great food and drinks paired with a great atmosphere, absolutely something Mesa has long needed.

My son has food allergies and we found this place for a safe treat and we were not disappointed! The lady working at the service counter was so accommodating and friendly and understood our concerns. The owner even came over and offered my son a beverage. Will definitely be back!

Great atmosphere and service, the food definitely stands on its own as some of the best in the city. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you swing by make sure to try there amazing macarons and banh mi, I know that sounds like an odd combination but trust me:)

Friendly and attentive service, locally owned place that aims to please and has lots of options.
Kid friendly too, my daughter’s and I decorated ornaments, had a bite to eat and they played some video games. Great after school spot.
My favorite part is that they offer a gluten free option for burritos, a GF tortilla wrap & it’s delicious. My favorite filling for the bahn mi is the pork belly, but all options I’ve tried are good. Love the Vietnamese coffee with a splash of cream. There’s also many gluten free and vegan options in the bakery case from Sweet Simon.
Love visiting regularly!

I'm so glad this place is down the street from me. I took my daughter here and she's a vegan. I personally think it's fabulous. She's impressed with the quality and price. I'm already giving out recommendations. So I hope they don't get to busy when I come in.
Peace
