I can only speak HIGHLY about this restaurant. I’ve frequented Charlie’s a few times and raved about them to any person I can. The food, the hospitality, everything is truly a 10/10. Thank you Charlie for making the food with love!!

I work next door and had to go in and try it and I was not disappointed it was amazing, super tender and flavorful, I love the little picture area. The girl at the front has amazing customer service and even though my kids were going crazy inside and getting water all over she helped me to my car and was amazing!! She needs a raise most people would have judged and been right but the owner and all employees are great!!! Have gone five times and never been disappointed.....

I really wanted this to be better because its close to my house. Both the oulled pork and the brisket were very dry. There isnt a lot of traffic through the restaurant so maybe they are keeping it warm too long, dont know. The side were the usual fare, nothing to write home about.

I live a mile away. I walked out with it and got home and had NOT hot food. Major disappointment. I had to microwave food I just got at the store. Flavor is FINE but absolutely nothing spectacular. A side of corn is 1/3 of a cob of mush on the cob. So your whole side is about two tablespoons of corn. Wasted money. She recommended that potato salad over the coleslaw... The potato salad had no flavor and tasted absolutely store-bought. I imagine the coleslaw is also. $10 a meat. Outrageously priced, I spent over $20 and that's with the senior discount and I threw in five bucks on the tip jar. Did I mention the flavor was fine, in my book fine is a four-letter word beginning with F. Sorry Charlie I'm not going back.

I had the 3 rib lunch special. The service was great from the older lady who helped me. I saw a younger lady in the back reposition someone's food on their plate using her bare hands. I was anxious to try the greens and macaroni and cheese, but they were out of both. I ended up settling for fries and adding 2 pieces of catfish.
My meal came with 3 nice size ribs... however, they were very greasy and flavorless. They taste like they were baked and left soaking in their own grease. When I think of backyard BBQ, as the name suggests, I look forward to tasting a beautiful smoked taste.. at the very least, I want to taste charcoal. The french fries were fried perfectly. The catfish pieces that cost $2 a piece were very good for the price and the size. Keep in mind that they are only $2 a piece, so a fillet 7 inches long by 2 inches wide and an inch thick is a good deal!!
The corn muffin that came with the meal was dry. They would be better off making a pan of cornbread and cutting pieces as they need them. That way it won't dry out as fast.
The koolaid was good and not over sweetened like most places do. I will say that the amount of food that I was given was a good portion. Its hard to find a place that will give you a lunch special after 3pm for $10
The meal included 3 ribs a side and a drink for $10!!
That's a great deal, I just wish that the ribs were better. Its got to taste like back yard bbq. I will definitely give this place a try in the future to see if they have improved on anything. The only reason I am willing to give it another try is because of the great service, and knowing that they were running out of everything makes me wonder if the ribs I received were indeed the last and on the bottom soaking in grease.

God dammm this place is amazing. Yummy for my tummy. A real treat for the tounge. Ribs outstanding, pulled pork wonderful, and the brisket out of this world. Everything fresh and juicy We had beans and rice. Coleslaw, potato salad, and don't forget regular beans. Corn bread and buns. Presentation was spot on. I am cutting this review short. Because I want to go back the dinning table. To stuff my face with another plate of this amazing barbecue. I will definitely be back.

I took my family to Charlie’s yesterday and we had a phenomenal experience. The owner was super friendly and provided excellent customer service. The lunch specials were a great deal! We ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of corn and ribs and I will say this was some of the best BBQ I’ve had in AZ. I will be telling my coworkers and friends about this place. It’s a huge improvement from the run down BBQ place that used to be there. We will definitely be back!

The day before Thanksgiving I decided to have some BBQ from Charlie's. I went there a little before 12 however the BBQ was not ready. Charlie told me when the food was ready he would arrange for it to be delivered to my home that afternoon. We'll that was exactly what happened but Charlie delivered it himself at no charge. I live in Phoenix by the airport just to give you some idea what the extra service looked like. Most businesses don't provide good service but to go the extra miles is unheard of!!
I am from Kansas and know good bbq but this right here AND the service is a true winner!! Do yourself a favor and stop on by for some of the best food in town. Very Happy customer!!!

I've eaten BBQ all over the country. This was the best brisket I've ever tasted. The ribs fell off of the bone. The tips were terrific. Topped off by a great host who cares about the quality of his food. Can't say enough good about this place. Well worth the stop if you're in the Phoenix area

Yesterday was our first trip there since Tom's closed. We were happy to see another BBQ place. The dining room had updated and looked fresh. Unfortunately, the service staff suffers the same affliction as most young people- they can't stay off their phones. The food was ok. We had ordered a catfish dinner. The fish was nice and crunchy, but a little salty. And we ordered a tip dinner with sauce on the side (thats not how we got it). I wasn't real impressed with the red beans and rice. It really didn't have much flavor and wasn't mixed well. We may or may not go back.
