We ordered a foot-long 5-0 sandwich with double meat and paid $22. Somehow, the cashier entered it as no meat instead. After waiting forever for them to bring us a sandwich with no meat, the employee remarked, “we thought it was weird it had no meat,” even though he didn’t bother to ask for clarification from the cashier who was standing about five feet away.
So we’re handed a $22 foot-long sandwich with zero meat on it.
After pointing out the mistake, they said they’d remake it (eventually). Before they would bring out the corrected sandwich, they demanded we pay the difference ($4), which we did.
We waited longer for the remake than it took to eat the sandwich. Between the lack of basic communication, the delay, and being asked to pay extra to fix their own error, it was an lackluster first experience with the chain. Definitely won’t be coming back.

I get the Cali Mist every time I come in. This guy at the front dressed like Mario gave us free samples of munchies. He was also funny and inviting. The food came out quick. This place is very consistent and delicious. I’m so grateful for Cheba Hut!

We come here all off the time as we live around the corner. Never had an issue with the service or food as it’s usually excellent! But tonight has me questioning returning ever again. I ordered my usual pinned 5-0 on wheat extra giardinara. Sandwich delivered to table had zero on it. Took it to gentleman who brought it to the table he copped a huge attitude then said I’ll give you I side of it. I stated no I want a fresh sandwich made the way I paid for it. He huffed and puffed and gave me a dirty look and I turned around and sat down. Approx 15 min later he brings me another sandwich. It has the giardinara on it but not even as much as the sandwich normally has on it, I asked is this extra giardinara (I know it’s not as I said we eat here very often) he said it’s on it and walked away. Needless to say to say my sandwich was ice cold the shredded cheddar cheese not melted still cold. He walks back up to table and slams a cup of giardinara down on table says here’s more and walks away. When did your customer service and treatment of customers turn to this CHeBA hut? I know my few hundred dollars a month spent here won’t be missed but I don’t think I’ll be back
