I have gone to China City on many occasions in the past and always had a good experience until yesterday on 10/07/25. I walked in with my elderly mother and the lady at standing behind the hostess area where you pay, never even spoke or looked up to acknowledged us, she finally looked up and started pointing to the lady coming to seat us as. This in itself was rude! After my mom and I were seated, about 10 minutes later, this same hostess not only greeted two other people who came after we did, but she also smiled and walked them to their table along with the waitress who seated my mom and I. I was sitting where I could see the whole situation. I thought wow! This was so rude to myself! We hadn’t done anything to deserve this kind of treatment. It was obvious she was intentional about her actions towards my mom and I. No one should be treated rudely when coming to support any place of business when they are paying just like everyone else. She and her rudeness was definitely the deciding factor that I won’t be back! The other ladies were a lot nicer. But we decided not to leave a tip where we felt our business wasn’t appreciated. This one lady, the first person you see as you walk in, made the experience less than adequate. It was not a busy time, probably 2:30 pm. However, no matter the time it’s no excuse for her rude behavior.

The food is good but we didn't like how we felt forced to give a tip. I won't tip next time unless I want to. Don't force customers to tip unless it's given by customer side. Plus the service wasn't very good by our lady. She didn't check up on us only gave us napkins and left us alone until we finished. Food and environment nice but bad lady service and she forced us to leave tip and we also didnt like her attitude and comment about it. She chased us down after i was done paying and tapped on the paper for the tip. Didn't like that!

I have come here twice twice and both times have been chased down because they think we are leaving without paying will not come here again! Talking in their language about us as we left.

BEWARE! FOOD POISONING!!! We basically paid $78 to get sick. The 3 in my group that ate oysters got extremely ill. In addition, waitresses were very nice, but when it came time to pay, we put in the amount for the tip and the cashier did not approve of the amount. She made a disapproving face, and started telling him to tip, pointing aggressively to a higher percentage button. He left a bigger tip and THEN she smiled and approved. I don't appreciate this kind of behavior from an establishment, especially since the food ended up making most of us sick. Very disappointing experience.

Hot fresh food just at opening.food was good. Staff seemed pleasant. Resterant appears to be gently used floor sticky should of been prestige for just opening. Noone in the place to spill yet.

The food here was awful and most set out way too long and a lot was over or undercooked. Strong seafood smell so if you are sensitive to that, avoid at all costs.
