Q: What's a chicken's favorite vegetable? A: Bok bok bok bok bok choy! What better way to spend a Friday than with some gal pals and good food? I ordered a #21 Spare ribs clay pot and a HK-style lemon tea for myself while some housemade fried fish filet, beef chow fun, and deep fried buns with condensed milk was shared between the four of us. All were oh so good. First things first about those who haven't had claypot rice: The rice is supposed to be crispy. That's arguably the best part of claypot rice! Yes, it takes 20 minutes to make (and it says so on the menu). Why? Because it is made to order. The rice goes uncooked with your chosen topping/entree, and it gets baked together. It's essentially an individualized casserole dish. Some soup gets served on the side, and while it is tempting and tasty to eat on its own, you pour the soup into your claypot rice towards the end to eat with the crispy rice. It's essentially part two of your meal. Claypot rice is also served with a special soy sauce based sauce you can use for your rice once you eat all the yummy toppings. As for all the other good eats, they were good! The housemade fish filet is incredibly delicious. Don't be assuming you're getting frozen stuff here. It's moist and tender and comes with a nice sauce on the side. The beef chow fun showed great technique with no broken noodles and lots of flavor. As for the deep fried buns with condensed milk, it's a nice sweet treat before the start of the meal. As for the HK-style lemon tea, just get it! I love this place! I can't wait to introduce more friends to this great eatery. I'm wishing Claypot Kitchen much success!

Good Hong Kong style dishes! The clay pot is special. I haven't seen it from anywhere else around here, and it is really delicious! We also like the Wontons. They also have smaller dishes like fried stick (which is hot and tender!) which we enjoy from time to time!

My husband and I went to Claypot Kitchen early on a Wednesday evening. They were not busy but the space still seemed cozy. It is very open with a high ceiling. We were greeted and brought water right away. We ordered and were brought a small plate of Spanish peanuts and a carafe of lemon water. We shared a plate of steamed dumplings which were good but nothing special. I ordered the house lo mein and it came first. There was a lot of it and plenty of beef, chicken and shrimp. I didn't think there were many vegetables at first but I think they all just slid down to the bottom. It was very good. Had a great wok hei flavor. And for the price the serving was very generous. My husband had the Chinese sausage and preserved meat claypot rice. It came with a brothy root vegetable soup. The rice was nicely crisped under the meat and bok choy. I tasted it but was happy with my lo mein. He liked it but probably would not order again. The service was great throughout.

Taste, taste and more taste. I live in Phoenix but had a date in Mesa. We are glad we went. Must haves: pork fried rice and ANY, if not all, of the Claypots. Quick and friendly service, inexpensive meal and leftovers for two days. Need I say more?!

This food was marinated deliciously. We ordered the spicy chicken clay pot dish. There was broth on the bottom then vegetables then tender well seasoned chicken on top. White rice was served on the side. Perfect for us because we a low carb eaters. We also ordered pork egg rolls. Super crispy with a delicious apricot type of sauce on the side. 1 dish fed us both perfectly. Cheers we will be back.

Best tasting clay pot in town. Rice congee is also very on point. Cannot go wrong with the Cantonese style dishes here!

Tried this place for the first time as we visited H Mart. The restaurant was spacious and clean. We ordered congee with shiitake mushroom and chicken, fried bread stick, and black pepper steak with onions on rice in a clay pot. The congee base was very smooth and properly cooked. Bread stick was good but could not tell if it was house made as indicated on the menu. The clay pot rice required 20 mins to prepare. It came out piping hot and the rice was nice and crunchy! The black pepper sauce was really yummy - while we were not a huge fan of the meat texture (it was marinated for tenderization). Our server was very attentive and she offered us a freshly made soy bean milk which was delish. We definitely want to come back and try their noodle dishes next time.

Never going back. I loved the place prior to the new owners. My Singapore noodles came with spam. I don't ever want to be served spam for my meat. The duck wings are served cold. They were slimy from the the duck skin, not fried at all. I've never ordered wings that are served cold. The shitake chicken claypot had no seasoning. Just random chicken parts that tasted boiled, some still had feathers on them and the rice was mushy. And the soup they served it with, just pieces of broken wings, bone in, in water with what looked like potatoes but didn't taste like anything, no seasoning either. The fried rice was okay. Everything was bland. I don't want go out to eat and pay for spam or chicken part with feathers and cold slimy duck wings. It used to be amazing when it was Nan Zhoa.

I've been craving for a bowl of spicy soupy noddles for the past few days due to the rainy and cold(for Phoenix )weather.I ordered spicy beef noodle and Singaporean fried rice noodle. The spicy beef noodle feels very comforting and it quickly warms you up in this gloomy weather. The beef has been marinated really well and the broth is packed with natural sweet umami with a hint of naughty spiciness. The Singaporean rice noodles is one of the BEST in town and I had tried many places. Service is constantly above and beyond. It always feels like eating at a nice and welcoming family kitchen instead of a restaurant. a restaurant.
