Owner and staff go above and beyond and the coffee is amazing!!

We signed up for their rewards program after our third visit and the owner Steve gave us enough points to get a free drink from our previous visits! He even offered a free raspberry flavored shot to try in my iced moorabbin and WOW!! Made it taste like a chocolate covered raspberry!

10000/10 recommend stopping by!

Best local coffee shop I have ever had the pleasure of visiting! Get ready for top-tier service and unique drinks. I come here so much my whole family back in Colorado knows their name! Give their cinnamon rolls a shot, too: the blackberry is by far my favorite. Definitely worth the visit, especially if you're lucky enough to bump into their unreasonably kind owner for a chat 😊.

I might not be able to pronounce the names of what’s on the menu, but it doesn’t matter when I could throw a dart at the menu and get a 5/5 drink. This place has been around for a good while now and it makes sense why business is still going strong. Great people, great atmosphere, and an unbeatable flavor of coffee. I will be back soon!

I think that this is the best coffee shop in Mesa. The owner is really involved and social. There's a small play area for kids and everytime we go here they know our order. When my wife goes alone they know my order and always ask if she's bringing home something. Not the mention that I've never had a bad drink or baked good. Probably the best cinnamon rolls I've ever had as well. If you spend your money at Starbucks it would be better to just set it on fire compared to Joey's.

I'm an Australian who moved to the US a number of years ago, hailing from Melbourne. The coffee culture in Australia is very strong, but arguably nowhere is it more deeply entrenched then in Melbourne: cozy, indie cafes adorn most street corners, and they live and die on their reputation among the very picky Melbournians.

So, when I tell you that this is bloody good coffee, I hope that holds some weight. This coffee is so authentically Australian I legitimately teared up a little drinking it.

As soon as I opened my mouth, the owner clocked my accent. What I love most about encountering other Australians out in the wild is that we all seem to immediately slip out of our American-Australian personas, and become ourselves again. All of the staff at Cup of Joey - especially the other Aussies - were incredibly welcoming and warm, and served us with classic Australian overt-friendliness. Even my American husband was smiling extra big, remembering his trips to Australia and the warm welcome of just about every hospitality establishment we walked in to.

I'll admit, hearing that there was an Australian cafe in Arizona, I was skeptical: I worried it was going to be all gimmick and no heart. But Cup of Joey was true blue Aussie.

Oh yeah, and the cappuccino was pretty good, too. <3

Cheers, mates!

What a wonderful experience! I stumbled upon Joey and now it’s my go-to!

The coffee is amazing, the staff are top-notch, the space warm and inviting. I’ll be the first to admit I’m a little awkward and shy, but I felt immediately welcomed and the vibe rocks. I loved that I could customize everything (truly, everything!) and they really cared that I was happy with my order (I was!). Everything is made-from-scratch, and I love that they’re family recipes. I cannot recommend this place enough, you must try it out!

Update 10/23: I was back in the area and was so excited to visit Joey again! The treats were delicious (as usual!) and my drink was amazing. I truly love that it is made-from-scratch and there are no artificial additives or preservatives!

Found them so close to where we’re staying and honestly they would’ve been worth the trip from anywhere in the area. Incredibly friendly staff, phenomenal coffee, and such a welcoming vibe. You’re missing out if you don’t stop in!

Really sweet people here.
We had coffee and the blueberry muffins. They were delicious. Warm, tasted like they were fresh baked. And the coffee was perfect. Assuming this is a mom-and-pop shop. Beautiful atmosphere. Loved it. Took some cinnamon rolls to go also :)
