I was trying to be patient at first but then I sensed an odd snappiness in her tone. .I decided to stay against my better judgment and it just continued to get worse. I ordered my food and specifically asked for an extra side of fried rice NOT a substitute. I was using my birthday special but was solo. She brings out two salads and two soups at which point I asked if I could get it boxed up. I have NEVER been to Benihana in 50 years and been given my own container to box my own stuff. I'm not above it but it was odd. Upon thinking about it however, I'm kind of on with it because Kaliee bought every single bowl with her hands OVER top of the bowl which is SUPER unsanitary. The soup, the salad, the sauces ALL were given to me with her nasty hands over it.
Moving on... Food comes no steamed rice. I asked for it and the response was still a bit of snippy. Ok... The food was room temperature and definitely precooked outside of the rices and the chicken (which had a ton of pepper on it.) They gave THREE shrimp. Huh? But ok... Whatever... Times have changed.
At this point however, I just wanted to GO!
Never offered the green tea that goes with the meal and when I asked she bought it with no sugar, I asked for it and it was out on the counter with no spoon.
For $41.62 I know I should've gotten better service than this. I'm not typically a huge on critiquing every little thing but this was the most ridiculous experience ever here. I started not to give her a single tip but still gave her $8 and didn't receive a THANK YOU! Learn some manners Miss Lady! I typically tip 25% for good service but you literally deserved NOTHING and you couldn't even say thank you for what you got for doing the bare minimum with an attitude. ?
If the cameras were pulled from when I entered to when I left, my entire energy shifted when I caught her weird energy. I was happy hecaus it was my BIRTHDAY and just got off to enjoy a good meal ALONE. She ruined that.
Bring back ANTHONY! He knows how to treat people! ?

When I walked in, I should have trusted my instinct and walked out. I was dining alone and normally like eating at the bar. It was a brightly lit, messy bar area with two loud, drunk men (not their fault but not appealing) so I took a seat at one of the high top tables. Service was poor starting with the server bringing me completely the wrong wine. This was fixed and I had asked for a carafe, which when I got my check was only a glass (in a small carafe - I thought it was stingy but at this point at least it was the right wine!). I ordered the Benihana soup (so so), the salad (very lacking) and the seaweed salad (probably the best thing I had). I had a sushi roll custom made which they accommodated but the fish didn't feel fresh and the roll fell apart (I can make sushi myself better at home). My server spent a lot of time on his phone and chatting with the sushi chefs. I didn't get offered water until the part way through my meal, and he forgot for a while. All in all, I would not recommend. It was also noisy with large groups. Maybe if you want the teppinyake experience with a group, it would be good?? Prices were high for substandard food. Wine was high too.

Dominic was our chef. He was entertaining the whole time. He did an excellent job of making sure my food that needed extra care (dairy free) was kept separate from the rest of the food. The food was delicious, especially the steak.

Chef Alex is the reason why we love dining at the Chandler location and have made it somewhat of a tradition to dine-in on birthdays. We've requested for him a few times now as he actually makes an effort to entertain the guests. Our kids love his jokes! The food is always cooked to perfection and the quality is next to none. If you haven't had chef Alex prepare your meals, we highly recommend requesting for him on your next visit!

We came here for our son’s 16th birthday and we had Braxton for our chef. We have never had so much fun. Braxton was hilarious and the food was phenomenal. Thanks Braxton for making our dinner celebration a memorable and fun one!!
