I've tried this place a couple of times, and I just can't recommend. The food is so bland. I am sure for some people that would be OK but not for me. The servers were nice and efficient - the drinks were pretty good, so they get a few stars for that. And the plantain chips are very tasty. Atmosphere is lacking, the place is pretty but not cozy.

The worst restaurant ever! Terrible service. Meals came out 1 at a time for 6 people. By the time the last meal came out, the rest were cold. I received the wrong order but didn't even tell them because it would of taken even longer. No chips and salsa so we had to ask. Received one small basket with one tiny bit of salsa. This place is a joke. Waitress never apologized for her mistakes. Asked for water , didn't get any until 3rd request. Plus, this place is not cheap yet it's quality is worse than fadt food. HORRIBLE EVERYTHING!

Stopped by here last night and ordered a couple of Peruvian dishes to go. That was a big mistake. Took nearly an hour to complete the order, while my wife and I waited in the dining room as the speakers pumped out an awful eclectic mix of pop country and reggaeton, but I digress. And yet, when they handed us the bag, they still screwed things up, giving us just one meal that was not even close to the two dishes we had ordered. After we told them about the mistake they still insisted the order was correct, before finally understanding and offering to make us the correct meals. That took five minutes. Starving, I asked about getting a discount, something to help with the unnecessary amount of time spent waiting for the food, but they claimed no manager was on site to "fix the system" to allow discounts, which I felt was b******** but whatever. Instead, they offered some sort of runny custard that when we got home I realized had leaked all over the back seat of my car. The nail in the proverbial coffin was that the food was average at best. In hindsight, we should have gone to Taste of Peru, or even just the drive-thru at McDonalds. Zero stars if I could.

The service wasn't good from greeting us, seating us, and serving us was just awkward. Never got drink refills, didn't even give us a pen to sign the check. Just an awkward experience. The food was ok, I got the taco plate and $13 for one taco, rice and beans is kind of a lot, didn't really have flavor. Probably won't go back to be honest.

Amazing food at this restaurant!! We love their chicken enchiladas!! Wow! Out of this world. It's a family owned restaurant.. run by the entire family. Nice and clean.. full bar.. great atmosphere! My husband Terry has made this restaurant an every evening stop after work because he likes their enchiladas so much!! Thank you EL Autentico!!

Fantastic food! Great location open and airy inside area that is well decorated and the staff is outstanding. We had the taquitos and the Seco Specialty Roast Beef in a cilantro sauce....Amazing flavors and perfectly seasoned. This is not a standard Sonoran run of the mill menu this authentic Mexican authentic Peruvian & Colombian. Such a great treat eating here. Cleanliness is outstanding and I cannot recommend this place enough.

Probably one of the best enchiladas I have ever eaten at a restaurant. The beef and red sauce were so flavorful. The rice was fluffy, perfectly cooked. Refried beans also quite good. My husband had a burrito pollo and raved about the flavor. The chicken was tender and so very tasty. Chips and salsa perfect. When we go back to Mesa, this will be our go to for Mexican food. (The service was wonderful as well.)

What a great place. I live right around the corner and never came in. Today we went in there and it was incredible. The food is amazing. The Cadillac Margarita is insane. Octavio was the bartender and was so fun. You have to check out this little place.

The service and family is amazing. The son knows his mezcal. The arepas and chorizo was great. We also had the pork pibil tacos which were amazing. The empanadas were nothing special, but the sauce was lights out. The regular margarita was ok. We will definitely go back.
Food was spectacular. Well seasoned and super tasty. Great portions as well. Will be back next time I'm in the area.

We decided to try this place on a Saturday afternoon. I was so excited as I love prickly pear margaritas and it's near home. However the margaritas tasted like straight syrup, so much so I couldn't drink it and my boyfriend had to choke it down. We ordered the carne Asada fries and they were bland and soggy. We also order the fish taco platter, it was stuffed so full that everything fell out right away. They also lacked any flavor. The only redeeming factor is the staff was very friendly.

Hmmm.. where can I start with this review. Since moving to Mesa I've enjoyed eating at the local restaurants but seem to be having a hard time finding good ones to eat at. We came in this afternoon to eat lunch and was greeted by a kind, friendly waiter he explained that the air-conditioning wasn't working so we decided to stay to eat anyways. The staff is friendly, the had a cute friendly bull dog puppy inside the restaurant that belonged to one of the staff who gave us a cute show by peeing on the floor but that's what puppies do right! The food wasn't horrible by any means it just lacked flavor it was super bland. I ordered chili relleno combo the beans we good but the rice and the chilli was disappointing. My boyfriend ordered chicken that he felt was good but his rice was not very flavorful. By no means am I knocking the food here it's just not for us.
