Great! Decent pan fried baos (sheng jian bao)
Dropped by for lunch on Saturday afternoon. This place was slammed! Super busy but easily joined the waitlist on site and got a text that our table was ready in about 15 mins.
Ordering was easy, QR code on the table led to an ordering website where we were able to place our orders and they delivered the first order within 5 minutes!
Dan Dan noodles - was okay, noodles well made, I thought it wasn’t spicy enough, so maybe flavored for local taste rather than authentic- I added spicy chili oil and it enhanced the taste.
Shanghai buns (pork) - very good, wrapping is nice and thin, soupy, taste great
Sheng jian bao - very tasty, crispy bottom. Hot and some juice when you bite into it.
Spicy wontons - just okay.
Overall - it’s been a bit over a year since our last visit and Happy Bao continues to make happy customers! Worth a visit!

The first time I ever tried xiao long bao (soup dumplings). If you've never tried them you are missing out. The rest of their menu is good too but I keep coming back for the xiao long bao.

This place has the best dumplings in all of AZ and So Cal. My real favorite is the Liangpi and Beef Chow Fun. The hand make the dumplings and noodles and you canbtaste the "wok hei" in the beef chow fun. Don't miss the Seafood Xiao Long Bao.

Don't go here with 5 or more people, we got separate checks and each got an extra $15 charge for the amount of guests. They didn't even tell us about it, and I only noticed when I looked at the receipt later on.

The second you walk in you can smell the tantalizing aroma. My mouth was watering before we even were seated. Are waitress was extremely helpful and explain the menu to us in great detail. She was wonderful and even gave us recommendations. We ordered soup dumplings and house fried rice and they were absolutely delicious. I have to say I am somewhat of a food snack when it comes to Asian food, because I lived in New York for 8 years. This was the best fried rice that I've had since I moved to Arizona!!!!

Husband and I came in with our daughter. Started with spicy wantons, I was not fond of the meat texture but flavor was great. Xiao Long bao was fantastic. Fried rice was on the same level as the best fried rice I’ve ever had! Custard bao was fantastic.

CONFUSED?? I came to this location because of the hype. I kept hearing good things about it, but I was disappointed. The xiao long buns lacked flavor. If I'm not mistaken, these buns are supposed to have yummy flavorful broth and well seasoned fillings. Unfortunately, that was not the case. The buns tasted like a soup you eat when you have a terrible cold. Meaning, you can't taste anything. The service definitely could have been better as it does not have a warm and inviting atmosphere. The xiao long buns from Trader Joes taste better! And those have microplastics in them ? Not sure what the hype is all about. It could be that their actual food taste good? But I only came here for the baos since I've been craving really yummy xiao longs....
The bland baos are overpriced. Btw, for the price that you pay, you'd think they'd have flavor.

I really wanted to love this place, but imo it did not live to the expectation. This place is overly hyped. The food is good but not the greatest. Still a good experience, and I'd still encourage anyone to try it, it's good food just not the most flavorful. The spicy chili dumplings were really good tho, I just which they added more chili oil, and fyi it is NOT spicy.
