Worth every penny! The food is Shockingly fabulous here. I love the spicy beef stew and the dumplings.

I think the chefs have to be absolute Magicians here because you can't get a flavor like that without there being passion behind the kitchen! I can tell this place really cares! We even came once when they were near closing and still got Stellar service!!! What a wonderful place!

It also reminds me a lot of New York! I love it.

I don’t think they tried to be rude or ignore us on purpose it could have just been a language barrier. We ordered three things and to me they were all gross. I had a hard time swallowing. But I generally don’t love Asian food. And the flies landing on me the entire time just grossed me out more. I don’t understand why this place is always busy

Great Bao / dumpling restaurant located inside Mengkong plaza in Mesa.

We have been here a couple of times. Often stop when we drop by Mengkong supermarket.

This is a great little restaurant serving fresh made dumplings, soups, noodle & rice dishes as well as Bao (steamed and fried).

Once you eat one dumpling it’s hard not to eat 10 more.
We suggest going with 4 or more people. Order a variety of dishes and eat family style. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) are worth a try. We also like the bok Choi and Choi sum.

Well. We like everything on the menu. Wish I had four stomach’s so I could eat more!

It’s a great restaurant serving authentic Chinese (not American Chinese).

We lived in Asia (hong Kong and singapore) for 22 years and we miss the food greatly.

Happy Bao does a great job of replicating the real thing. And it’s clean, has friendly and attentive service and is in a comfortable environment.

So I placed an order online my daughter went to pick it and the lady was very rude to her because apparently there wasn't any order showing up in her system and she couldn't explain why so she just told her to leave in a very unprofessional rude way

Great! Decent pan fried baos (sheng jian bao)

Dropped by for lunch on Saturday afternoon. This place was slammed! Super busy but easily joined the waitlist on site and got a text that our table was ready in about 15 mins.

Ordering was easy, QR code on the table led to an ordering website where we were able to place our orders and they delivered the first order within 5 minutes!

Dan Dan noodles - was okay, noodles well made, I thought it wasn’t spicy enough, so maybe flavored for local taste rather than authentic- I added spicy chili oil and it enhanced the taste.

Shanghai buns (pork) - very good, wrapping is nice and thin, soupy, taste great

Sheng jian bao - very tasty, crispy bottom. Hot and some juice when you bite into it.

Spicy wontons - just okay.

Overall - it’s been a bit over a year since our last visit and Happy Bao continues to make happy customers! Worth a visit!

The first time I ever tried xiao long bao (soup dumplings). If you've never tried them you are missing out. The rest of their menu is good too but I keep coming back for the xiao long bao.

This place has the best dumplings in all of AZ and So Cal. My real favorite is the Liangpi and Beef Chow Fun. The hand make the dumplings and noodles and you canbtaste the "wok hei" in the beef chow fun. Don't miss the Seafood Xiao Long Bao.
