As we were waiting for the Happy Bao restaurant we wandered around the mall that the Hue Gourmet was in. We noticed a few people order from the restaurant but still decided to try the bao restaurant. It was so disappointing that we immediately went to the Hue restaurant to redeem our dinner experience and were very impressed. We opted for the classic Bun Bo Hue and our food came out quickly. The soup was surprisingly delicious filled with good sized chunks of meat and lots of vegetables to put in the soup. The lady working there even made some tea for us! I was kicking myself for not going the Hue Gourmet first instead of the Bao restaurant. Would highly recommend this place over the Boa place!

Took so long for mi Quang, when the food come out tasted not mì quảng. Seem like pasta from Italian mixed with ketchup and some pork tasted terrible. Not come back for sure

It took more than 1/2 hour for a to-go order of chicken pho and crab noodle soup. Everyone ordered to-go and dine-in had their food, except us. I had checked with the old cashier/owner guy 3 times and he kept saying that the kitchen was prepping the food until I got fed up ans asked him what's going on... He went to the kitchen and picked up a package of food that I saw seating there by the kitchen door behind him for at least 20 minutes!!?? The moron had some nerves telling me that it was someone else's order I saw, but he picked it up and gave it to me @%# If you don't know how to run a food court stall, have some decency to admit an oversight and utter an apology, your business will go belly up sooner or later.

A hidden gem in a sea of mediocre Asian food. Don't let its humble appearance in the Mekong food court fool you. While Arizona already has a surprisingly large number of high quality Vietnamese restaurants, Hue Gourmet provides a refreshing and unique culinary experience. You'll notice that pho is absent from the menu. Instead, you'll find a wide variety of lesser known but arguably more delicious soups and other dishes. If you're not that adventurous and want something safe, the duck soup is terrific. But if you have a more sophisticated tongue, close your eyes, point to something, and you'll be in for a treat.

I. Crave. This. Place. Since I have family in the Scottsdale area, I am fortunate to fly down every 3 or so months to pop over here and eat this soup. It's so creamy. The noodles are homemade. As a gluten free foodie, I can rarely find homemade noodles! Hiding in this soup is quail egg. Shrimp and a very small amount of crab are in this too. The flavor is rich- and comforting. I've been here 4 times now; and each time, the same man takes my order. The owner, perhaps. He's so kind. Service was quick. Those who brought the food out were wearing gloves and masks. This place is located in an open food court. If you don't like noise, or lots of people, probably not for you. And I run cold (temperature wise) so I always have a coat! Already looking forward to next time!

This place was a quick stop on my grocery shopping trip. It's a mini food court in the Mekong Plaza. The food was authentic and great! I got the banh uot! I would definitely come back and it was a quick spot.

I was excited to try this option and their Vietnamese banh cuon. We wait 20 min and were the only customers there. A party came after us and received water... then all their food.. We only ordered one Entrée, did not get water and were still waiting. At this point fed up we asked for everything to-go. Not sure what is wrong with their service. Looks like this is pretty common at this restaurant. I won't be back despite enjoying their food banh cuon and viet ice coffee.

The Best Vietnamese food in Phoenix!! Service is fast and convenient. All their foods are very authentic and delicious. My favorite are Banh Loc La, Banh Canh Cua and Banh Beo are highly recommended!! Located inside Mekong Plaza food court with plenty of seatings. Large portions at reasonable prices.

NOT HAPPY!Placed my order in at 12:32pm. I ordered a plum soda and Bun Bo Hue. I received my beverage immediately after sitting and was waiting for my meal. I seen two different customers order AFTER me & they received their meals first. They both ordered soup & received it. I seen one of the staff ladies point at my table and another table that ordered after me, before the two parties that received their meals first. The other staff(probably manager) just shushed her up. I waited till 1:15pm to finally ask for a refund. Totally disappointed. I’ve been here three times before and it does not take them this long to serve out a bowl of bun Bo hue.

This is a special place to find Vietnamese food. I can't wait to go back to get Vietnamese rice pancakes, which I have not found elsewhere. They have helped me explore new food choices which I have enjoyed.

I am debating on how many stars to give and I give it 4, as the girl working there was nice and my order came out pretty quick. They said it would take 15 minutes for to-go and it was ready in 10 minutes. Now, in regards to the food, it was not anything that I would recommend. I ordered number 204, which was the duck soup and number 207, with pork. The broth came separate and the duck, noodles and cabbage in another container. The duck had many bones and it was hard to eat. The taste of the entire soup did not make me go crazy , it’s not what I thought it would be. The second meal , number 207 on the menu - the noodles were cold and only the meat was warm. The taste was ok, nothing that I would recommend either. At this point , in my opinion pho soup is the best so far in the Vietnamese cuisine.
