HEALTH CODE VIOLATIONS - DO NOT EAT HERE

Visited 9/22/25 at 8:57 PM for pickup order. Witnessed serious food safety violations that I had to report to the health department:

- Staff retrieving chicken strips from container next to trash can
- Mac and cheese served from dish next to dirty sink
- Buns taken from tray sitting on top of trash can
- All food had been sitting out at room temperature for 20+ minutes

Other customers received orders made with this improperly stored food. I refused my order and left immediately.

This is not just poor service - these are dangerous health code violations that could cause serious food poisoning. Food stored next to garbage and temperature abuse are major health risks.

Filed complaints with corporate KFC and Maricopa County Health Department. Staff appeared to follow these procedures routinely, suggesting this is an ongoing problem.

WARNING: Skip this location until they fix their food safety practices. There are many other dining options in Mesa that won't put your health at risk.

The kitchen was completely shut down over an hour before closing time (10 PM), with chairs already stacked. Poor management and dangerous food handling make this place a health hazard.

UPDATE: Health department complaint filed. Waiting for inspection results.

My favorite fast food chicken. If it were healthier I would rate the food a 5!

How is it possible that fried chicken place has no flour to make Extra Crispy Chicken!
This is what you do…sell chicken.
Labor Day weekend and no flour…
Now we have to change meal plans, so aggravating to say the least.

I feel like all KFC's have really gone downhill lately. This one looked really nice and had a somewhat recent remodel, so we thought it would be good. But we asked specifically if they put butter in the bag for our biscuits. They lied and said yes. We did an online order and gave about 25-30 minutes before we went to pick-up. We were there 10 minutes after it said it would be ready and we still had to wait another 10 minutes. It was literally 3 sides and some biscuits. That's it. We ordered mashed potatoes and gravy, there was no gravy in the bag.

Walked in to order food around 8pm today and, as I turned to the kiosk, I heard someone hit the ground behind me. Naturally I turned to see if they were okay thinking someone had tripped or something and saw an employee sitting up and throwing himself backwards on the ground while wailing. I thought he was upset over something until I saw his pants almost around his knees, exposing his bare butt to the front door, and cuts and bruises that looked fresh all over his face. The way he was acting looked like either an overdose in process or an episode of psychosis. My fiance and I left immediately because we didn't feel safe and, as we were discussing whether to call for medical, another employee walked out to deliver food carside. We let her know she may want to have medical come by and check him out but she rolled her eyes and walked inside. We made the decision to call 911 just in case and, when the ambulance pulled in, she walked to the door, rolled her eyes again, and walked back behind the counter where, we found out from the police, they were actively trying to hide the employee. Everyone refused to let anyone help and said they would send him home with a ride. Overall, I didn't feel comfortable with the fact that the staff allowed the behavior, especially in the front of the store and refused to do anything, then followed up by hiding him from police and EMTs. The whole situation made me wonder, if they allow this without any action, what are they allowing in the kitchen? I won't be returning, filed a complaint with corporate, and will be figuring out how to contact the franchise owner tomorrow. I understand some people need extra help and compassion, but this behavior from everybody in that store was unacceptable and dangerous. The way that man was acting would have traumatized my children if I had them with me.

I was seriously craving fried chicken and decided to stop at the KFC off Baseline in Mesa, AZ. As soon as I walked in, I was shocked and disturbed to see an employee with what looked like blood on his face and clothes, falling to the ground, moving strangely, crying, then getting up and doing it again. It was clear he was extremely high or having some kind of serious episode.

I was so concerned for his safety—and everyone else's—that I told another employee who had come from the drive-thru window that he needed help. She rolled her eyes at me and went back inside without doing anything. That’s when I decided to call 911.

When the fire department showed up, the staff actually tried to hide the man and then refused to serve me. Even more disturbing, they allowed him to stay there as if nothing had happened.

I don’t know what’s happened to the values or basic human decency at some restaurants, but this was absolutely not okay. I’m just thankful I didn’t have my kids with me. I will never go back to this location again.

Worst KFC ever. Worst employees ever. I mean if you hate your job then quit. I placed an order ahead of time like 30 minutes ahead of time. Because I needed to get to work for my night shift. I arrive to pick up my order and thru tell me they just dropped the wings. Which means they just started cooking them. Then they say sorry we are behind today. I look around and see 3 people inside. No one in the drive thru. OK..... no you guys are just lazy. Not the first time I've had to wait for ah order from this place. Think I'd learn my mistake.

I’m currently standing in this store and no one will help me. I ordered online and it said ready. I went to the drive thru as directed and they didn’t even check my order status before telling me to go around to the front to come inside.
They always claim to be understaffed yet this place is always dead. I thought it was closed for months.
After this I’ll be deleting the app and not coming back or at least not to this location. Chick Fil A does it better. All of it.

Turns out the entire time my order was sitting in the front waiting to be picked up. ZERO communication, zero effort, zero customer care. When I figured out what happened the employees shrugged it off and walked away.

We waited 5:min for the employee to come in from smoking in the drive-thru. Then, when she did, she just sat next to the screen holding her head for a few minutes before she recognized We were sitting here. She told me we had to order from the kiosks . 27 minutes to get our order. Don't know how they can stay open like this.. You
