The absolute best barbecue I've had. THE FRIENDLIEST STAFF. 10/10. Quick turn around for food and small seating. Don't miss this place!

We ate at Papa Bears BBQ while staying in Apache Junction. A friend, also from NE recommended this place to us. What a gem! The best food, cold beer (bottle with a frosty mug no less) and amazing service! The owner was at the counter when we ordered and had some great recommendations for us! You can tell he is fully vested in his restaurant and truly cares about his customers' experience! If you are looking to support a locally owned business instead of a chain, go to Papa Bears BBQ! You won't be disappointed!

Highly recommend the three meat combo with corn bread and mac n cheese! I had brisket, pulled pork and the smoked turkey and it was delicious!

The brisket was really really good, they ask you if you want more fatty or lean, which is nice. The only complaint I have is the cornbread is extra. Your meal comes with two slice of regular sandwhich bread. I would definitely come here again. The young lady at the cash register was kind and did her job very well.

I travel here once every couple months but this is the best brisket I’ve ever had! I love that you can choose if you want a leaner or fattier cut of brisket. I always get the mix. It literally melts in your mouth. And the house smoked sausage is delicious as well.

Better than Dave's BBQ, right here in AJ.

Went to Papa Bear‘s today for the first time and it is excellent. Best brisket I’ve ever had. And the owner is an awesome gentleman! And great staff.

The best brisket around, hands down! Their bbq sauce is the absolutely the best you will find anywhere. Well worth the drive to AJ, you won't be disappointed. Also call and ask about their specials.

DELICIOUS! I ordered baby back ribs with Mac n cheese and steak fries. I waited less than 10 min for a walk in order, it was hot and flipping awesome! Ribs were fall off the bone, fries hot and seasoned. Even got a fat piece of Texas toast! I love this place now! I'll 100% be back! No photos because I ate it!

Full slab of ribs doesn't come with any sides. For $38 you should get something. In Chicago full slab, baked potato or fries, cole slaw, 2 pieces garlic bread is $24. Sides potato salad, Mac & cheese needed salt and pepper. Beans watery and bland. The meats were very good but not a fan of the thin BBQ sauce. Oh they do have corn bread which isn't on their printed menu or on line. It was the best of the sides. So buy the meat and use your favorite BBQ sauce if you don't care for theirs. And, just skip the sides.

If I knew a bbq sandwich would take an hour, I would have gone some place else. Prices a little high. But the wait for the food is ridiculous and definitely not worth it.

Food was amazing and employees were amazing but a very small place and not a lot of room to sit or stand
