Not being rude but giving constructive criticism: I’m Puerto Rican and make most of the food on the menu at home frequently. I’ve had my fair share of good empanadas and unfortunately this place did not live up to the hype. We spent $45+ for 7 empanadas and their appetizer combo. The beef inside the empanadas was extremely unseasoned, the potatoes were very undercooked, it’s obvious they use pre-cubed packaged ham, they probably use Goya empanadas discs and their maduros were not ripe enough at all, thus not sweet as the name suggests. For as much as this place charged for their food, it was extremely lacking in too many areas. The service was good, atmosphere was nice but as far as food goes, for being open for 13+ years their menu should be 10x better. *no sazón or sofrito in any dishes by the way

Way overpriced for what you’re getting as someone who used to work there. You should all know that the manager sucks on her wife’s neck while she cooks and the whole business has some shady practices.
I had a pernil torta highly recommend it was delicious. Emma was really nice and we felt very welcomed by her. Edmundo came by the table and we had a nice conversation. 10/10!!

What a great local yummy spot! I love they have a fresh garden! I can’t remember the last restaurant I went to that had a big fresh garden. I can see why this place has been around forever. We got the El Captian and Cheeseburger empanadas so delicious! Try them! You won’t regret coming to this little local gem!

Empanadas were very tasty with a good amount of filling in each. Crust had good flavor, a bit on the crunchy side. Combo appetizer was a nice venture into something new. Sauces were all great and everything tasted fresh. Next time I will be trying out some of the sweet offerings, looking forward to the next visit. Cool artwork adorns the walls inside and out with a nice little patio next to the community garden.

Our first visit I noticed plenty of table available in the patio area. I requested the patio, the guy said 10-15 min wait. It was a 40 minute wait. We left and as we walked past the patio same elderly couple were still seated and plenty of room for 4.
This place has it all, amazing food with vegan/vegetarian options, great vibes, and friendly staff. If you’re vegan, I highly recommend the Pura Vida empanada with their house salsa!
