The fried zucchini was good, the salmon was okay, the table was comfortable, and our server was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, I did not like the taste of the risotto, and the asparagus was underdone. My wife did not enjoy her chicken piccata, and the fettuccine had an unusual taste. I wish I had ordered the lasagna (which someone else at our table enjoyed.
First time here and we'll definitely come back. Excellent service and food was good too! Wine bottle prices are very reasonable. Thank you!
service was excellent. Server described the specials, suggested wine. Food deleivered was appropriately hot, presentation good. We were notrushed,.
Sam and Luca is a great find! Not many Italian restaurants in the valley that meet our Chicago expectations! Every aspect of the experience was fantastic.
Food and service were amazing. From the outside it looks like your basic crowded mesa restaurant with nothing special, but once you go inside it's like entering a small ma and pops restaurant in Italy. The hostess got us seated quick and our server provided all the info we needed to choose what we wanted. The table setting with candle made it romantic for our first date and the food tasted amazing and was actually delivered hot and fresh. I would and have already recommended this place to people I know.
Our primary server,Phil, has taken care of us before. This evening he was training Savanah. She was fabulous!
This was our first time at Sam & Luca Italian Bistro. Service was wonderful, food was good, but not incredible. My short rib was 50% fat. The others had short rib and their meat was way better. All three of us had risotto and it was undercooked.
Great food, the shrimp were so fresh a cooked perfectly in the risotto. Service was wonderful. Will be going again for sure!
Although the ambience and the service was very good, the value for the food and the food portions were well below expectation.
Nearly $30 for a plate of pasta that was not amazing or a hearty portion, $9 for a piece of tiramisu that is smaller than a pack of cards, $13 for an appetizer of 4 pieces of bread / bruschetta, Etc.… Left us less than wowed.
We had 1 appetizer, 4 pasta dishes, 3 desserts, and 5 beverages – no alcohol- and walked out paying $225 for 4 adults.

This was our first time at Sam & Luca. We will be back. Food and drinks were great as was the service!
A very good local restaurant with an ambience and warmth that is getting harder to come by. Really enjoyed our dinner.
Everything was great except the bread..a place this good should not be serving sub standard bread
