Fun atmosphere. A definite must see place . Tad my server was a real delight. Friendly , courteous and great customer service. He made a breakfast recommendation. The Applewood Bennie with Hollanaise sauce and avocado on top. . It tasted delicious.

OBSESSED 100% 10/10 WILL do again!!
Ordered: Sunnyside smoothie; chorizo bennie with sliced tomato and medium poached egg; All American with tatertots, scrambled eggs, and white toast; and berry crepes from sugar rush. EVERYTHING was ?? the crepes were the perfect dish for ending summer with light fruit and going into fall with softer spice of the sauce. The chorizo bennie had the lightest hint of spice that is complimented wonderfully by the creaminess of the hollandaise sauce. The all American was a great hearty breakfast with sausage gravy thats a great option for comfort food. The Sunnyside smoothie is a great summer pick-me-up without being too sweet. Seriously its all amazing!!

Customers are being hospitalized for salmonella after eating here. There's maggots in wall by the dish pit and the owner refuses to have anything done about it -- this is the second time in 2024 that they've been faced with this issue. Mold festers in the walk-in and the coolers on the line. Overpriced food for a wait that is simply not worth the quality or impending medical bills. :(

Came for brunch and we were seated in 15 minutes. Off to a good start. Then we proceeded to wait an hour for our food. I ordered oatmeal with sliced banana. 2 minutes before the food is brought out, the waiter unapologetically tells me they do not have bananas, do I want the other fruit. Not a huge fan of berries but did not want to eat plain oatmeal. I asked it they would not charge for the $1.50 added fruit since after waiting an hour you are now telling me you do not have it. They said no. The whole experience was not great. Food was mediocre. We will not be back and I would not recommend eating here, breakfast at Denny's was better. Later I write a Yelp review and the manager Kyle tells me "Happy to see you go someplace else". Thanks Kyle W just the shining example of hospitality I would expect from your establishment!

My family and I have been coming to sunny side for a little over 5 years, we have brought friends and family over and enjoy many a Sunday morning here; However on April 7 2024. we had a rather disturbing experience, my teenage son ordered a strawberry fusion smoothie, he’s allergic to nuts and all the ingredients looked safe.
The smoothie arrived first and after a few minutes, as the food was brought he mentioned his tongue was feeling funny, I looked at him and his lower lip was fully swollen and had hives on it, he complained of chest pain as well. we had barely received our food but due to the closeness of the hives to his throat we had to leave immediately, I told my husband to take him to the car while I payed for the bill.
I approached the older asian lady at the front, told her my kid was having an emergency, that he had an allergic reaction and that I needed to pay;
She asked which table were we seating, went in the computer, while she looked for our bill I asked her if the particular smoothie had any nuts, she said no, at this point I believe my child’s epi pen was in my hands, what happened next was disappointed to say the least, she went and called the waitress (Serenity)
As she was busy with the next table down it took her a couple of minutes to come up, this woman wanted to make sure that Everything we ordered was input in the computer and that we were charged for it; didn’t really matter that we were having a life threatening situation or that we didn’t touch the food. Finally they charged my card and I was able to leave and rush my son to the nearest Emergency room where due to the severity of his condition was admitted immediately
This was a situation that was created by your restaurant, we had just come to have breakfast after mass, I assumed due to cross contamination.
I Sent them an email, never heard back.
What assumption? We came straight from mass, no food or drink is served,
However minutes after consuming your smoothie he went into anaphylactic shock.
e-mail was sent on April 13, 2024 at 4:18pm
Interesting you regret “my assumption “ more than the behavior of the Asian woman on an emergency situation
I hope you reflect on the reply you have given. I don’t know who you are but I see the lack of empathy and values runs high on this place
We drove across Mesa specifically to get a delicious gluten-free pancake breakfast. ?
⚠️ Here is your warning sign⚠️ for anyone with taste buds,
DO NOT ??? eat the pancakes here!! The taste was horrible, both the gluten-free and regular pancakes. Neither were edible. I can not express enough how raunchy they tasted.
It's a good thing we ordered eggs. This way, we left with something in our bellies.
My mother ordered the regular pancakes ? and she said those were also terrible too.
After notifying the waiter, he took my GF pancakes away, discounting our order - $5.
He did nothing about my mother's pancakes. She said hers tasted raw and said she had no other words to express how much she disliked them and planned to never go back.???
It's a shame, I had such high hopes for this place, too.
On another note, the regular coffee was nice and strong

I am so disappointed in this place. We decided to try something new for breakfast, and this place sounded good. But when we sat down and saw the menu, our first inclination was to run. The prices are outrageous for what you get. They charge $17.00 for a smoothie. $3.50 for a side of toast. $15 to $20 for a breakfast served on plastic plates.(that makes me sound like a snob, but if I am paying that much, I'd like a decent plate.) They have a breakfast chimichanga that they charge $1.00 extra to deep fry it. Hmmm. Wouldn't that be a breakfast burrito? Chimichangas are everywhere else. At any rate, we won't be going back. This place is way over-priced, and the food was mediocre. It's such a shame. 7/20/24: Well, the statements from the owner just prove my point. No wonder this place is bad. It seems the owner can't take constructive criticism from paying customers. After such a charming reply, I might have to spread this review to other social media platforms. I may be a bit of a snob when it comes to the value of a restaurant, but this review is for people who are trying to find a good place to eat and in my humble opinion this is not it. I'm not sure what the owner has against First Watch, but yes, I eat there as well as Crackers and Co., Black Bear Diner, T.C. Eggingtons, Broken Yolk Cafe, Chompies, and Egg N' Joe's. Everyone of them way better than Sunnyside Breakfast Lounge.

Food very good with a nice menu... something for everyone. Our wait staff was excellent. Parking could be an issue as this is a popular place. Going at peak times may mean a bit of a wait, but worth it. Outside seating also. Can get a bit loud at times.
