Large serving sizes, great fish, very friendly staff. Atmosphere is cute but small. I ordered a sushi bowl over lunch and got it in less than 5 minutes. Very tasty

One of my favorite restaurants in Mesa! The portion sizes are great for the price. Their tempura udon and Washington bowl are my usual orders from here. The people that run the restaurant are really sweet.

Yum! We love Sushi stop! It's a small family owned and operated sushi spot that only does take out now. It's so delicious!

Takeout only little hole in the wall spot, but a total gem. the family who runs it is suuuuper nice and the nigiri portions are massive especially for the price! we’ve ordered from them several times in the past and they are always consistently great. much love!

Had my spouse pick up some sushi for dinner ; 3 California roles, gyoza, and edamame. When he got home: first the rolls are the size of a doughnut ! Can’t even fit them in ur mouth or grab them, but worst part is the taste was SO nasty and fishy! The krab mixture tasted like Itwas fishy rotten and just so so nasty. I spit it out immediately and called them, their response was “well the chef said it’s not fishy tasting” we spent 50$! I eat California roles ALL the time and never had one as nasty as this. My bf decided to try to eat one but couldn’t even grab them and had to use a giant salad fork to eat it lol took him 6 bites just for one. Will never come back. The gyoza and edamame was not bad tho! Recs for owner: reduce the size of the roll, use solid crab rather than a pound of the shredded crab, and check the smells/taste of ur product , refund ur customer if they are not happy.

The WORST customer service. They mess up a 6 piece meal which came to $88. After realizing how expensive it was I figured something wasn't correct. They gave me 3 of the wrong rolls and when asking for it to be fixed the front desk lady argued with me for 10+ minute. She told me I was in the wrong and the only thing she could do was have them make me another roll that I would still have to pay for. No respect from her or the cook. I am very disappointed that she chose to fight me over this rather than being polite about it. So sadly I don't plan on giving them any of my business again which is a shame because I was often a regular who ordered many rolls and tipped well.

As of writing this review, Sushi Stop is still takeout only.Parking is easy in the plaza with a small amount of seating available inside to wait for your order. With our first time here, we missed that Sushi Stop is takeout only, so we had to order inside and wait for our order. It took about 15 minutes to get our order while other customers were waiting for theirs. When we went, there were only two people working at the time, but we were really impressed with how well they were able to juggle everything on their own. They were also friendly!I ordered the Pork Katsu Curry. It was just a little over cooked, but portions were very plentiful. It comes with just a bit of Japanese red pickles. I finished the katsu and about half the rice in one sitting. I saved the rest of the rice and curry for leftovers. With cooking some more rice at home, I was able to turn the leftover curry into two more servings. My partner got the Sushi Combo C. It comes with 8 pieces of a regular roll of your choice (partner chose the California Roll) and 5 pieces of chef's choice for sushi. Portion sizes are also huge for this! The rolls and and sushi are very, very big. My partner had to split his order into two servings as it was a lot. He was very pleased with the taste and quality of the combo. He also pointed out you can really taste the crab in the California Roll. Other places tend to put a lot less crab to cut down on costs, but Sushi Stop clearly does not skimp!Overall, Sushi Stop is a great and no fuss takeout place. It manages to give great quality and freshness despite their restaurant model. I also love that they give big portion sizes because it makes takeout way more worth it to me.

The staff was super friendly, they do takeout only. It smelled really good, in regards to food, I got shrimp tempura, fried pork gyoza as appetizers and they were very average, didn't really taste that fresh to me, kind of seemed store bought. I got the mexican roll and the flavor was good but their rolls are INCREDIBLY big so you aren't able to even eat a piece by itself, I had to cut it in half and then the rice fell apart and it was a total mess and it kind of ruined the experience because I want to be able to appreciate all the flavors and textures of the roll in my mouth at the same time, not separate so I'm not a fan of the size, if it was a normal roll size I think it would have been great. Unfortunately I don't think I would go back.

This is the freshest sushi I have found in Mesa so far. The portions are big. I can only eat 1 roll to myself.

Recently stopped by to see if things had changed and how. When they first opened, I recall the portions were rather stingy, but on my last visit, I would characterize them in Japanese as デカ盛り, ginormous, or even, バカデカ盛り, stupidly large portions. The sushi rolls were stuffed to nearly breaking, and almost the diameter of a can of pop. Same with the very generous nigiri: six pieces here may sound small but it is like 10 somewhere else. It's almost as if they reacted to my original review six years ago by simply shoveling large portions at customer, but they've managed to keep the quality very high. The dining room remains closed, so it is takeout only, but that is a small price to pay for food of this quantity and quality.

This place is about value. You won't find a larger roll, perhaps anywhere in the world. It's always a bit cringe to spend $15+ on a roll, when I picked up the first box, the weight felt as if there was an entire fish inside. It's for sure a very fair price. Service is top notch. Kids enjoyed the hot food, and they are very picky (katsu and teriyaki).
