The Taco Spot - Mesa

Ambience was great, employees were super nice and service was fast and exactly as we ordered. The place was super clean and good music that wasn’t too loud.

The 2 star rating comes from the food itself:

Chicken burrito was dry, rice and beans were lacking flavor and the chicken was dry and tasted like canned chicken.

Vampiro is usually something I love, it’s like a tostada loaded with tons of stuff. But look at the picture and you will see it’s covered in a sauce. It tasted like mayonnaise and was the only thing we tasted.

Birria tacos were good, no issues with them but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat these birria tacos. They just weren’t as flavorful and juice as I am used to.

The nachos might be my biggest complaint. We get nachos dishes at places all over the valley, we are used to beans, sour cream, lots of meat and guac. Not this. It was literally canned nacho cheese sauce with pickled jalapeños and some cilantro and meat and onions. The serving size was tiny and they were the more expensive items we ordered. I can say with strong confidence these are the worst nachos I’ve ever been served.

Nice folks, but for the very high prices they charge I cant in good conscience suggest anyone come here.

Terrible experience Tiny tacos almost no meet or cheese. The queso birria isn’t toasted and it doesn’t have queso or birria. Their marketing is great tacos suck. Lime wedge and thumb for comparison sad.

Good food and can't go wrong!! Only gave 4 stars because I've had 5 star carne asada tacos and it can't compare but still very good.

Ordered for delivery, everything was cold, tacos, burrito, and consume (dipping sauce for tacos)... worst excuse for a taco. Received two tacos instead of four which we paid for. Filibertos any day over this place.

Placed order in advanced. Had to pay over the phone. I watched the cashier sell the last order of what I had already paid for to someone that got to the store after I had paid. Was not offered a refund. The "replacement" they offered me was truly awful.

I ordered them through Uber eats and I got 2 birria tacos and consumé. I also ordered an order of fries, which I did not receive. Those tacos were good but they were tiny. Unfortunately, I won't be trying this spot again. 😢

Decent food at a significant price- 3 tacos de birria and a surf n turf burrito with no accompanying sides and a soft drinks was $36. No margaritas or any alcoholic beverage on national margarita day. A strange atmosphere in limbo between appealing to an American crowd while trying to stay authentic

Cashier Janeth was very helpful and polite however the food is absolutely not! Worth the money. Seasonless , very small toddler portions. The sample size of refried beans tasted better than the carne asada street tacos. $34 for about $10 worth of disgusting under portioned food. I wish I would have checked these reviews 1st! 1st and last time going to overpriced flavorless tiny portion taco spot in Mesa! To the owner, plz don’t waste neither of our time apologizing. Nothing said can fix this issue however, I suspect ur doors will b closing soon. Gots to do better. I’ve never been served a medicine cup full of rice in beans that wouldn’t fill up a 2yr old . I’ve literally had a cup of ranch for my wings in a better size portion than this. Never mind the pic because it actually Looks like its more than it really is. Just sad

I had a good experience here. Food is great, had ordered a quesadillia with birria and had great taste! Our drink unfortunately was not good. I had ordered a "horchata" and tasted nothing like it. Wish it had more of a authentic taste to it. Other than that, good service and atmosphere. Recommend!

Hate that this is the closet Location to my house because the past 2 times I’ve been here, the taller bigger girl & the short Hispanic girl have terrible service. Like terrible I regretted tipping them

1st time, they were super slow, didn’t even greet us as we approached the register. When we were ready to leave I asked for a refill on my agua fresca and the girls were going back and forth talking to each other with my cup in their hand, they were also on the phone. I got upset told them to just keep my cup and I walked out…

2nd time, I ordered Birria quesadillas & at other locations they ask if I want corn or flour, this girl didn’t ask, I assumed they will be corn tortillas because I also pointed at the picture of what I wanted and the picture had corn tortillas but they brought me quesadillas with flour tortillas. they brought our food out and before they brought our salsas, so naturally we’re gonna wait longer for them to bring what we need. Also apparently they took my ordered wrong and didn’t ring me up for a consommé, so as I’m eating I ask for it and they me I wasn’t charged, so I asked for her to bring it anyways because I did ask for it, completely no my fault those girls don’t pay attention, but instead she proceeded to charge me for the consomé. I don’t mind paying for my food but I also hate the terrible service I receive from those two as I am signed up from taco spot rewards because of how often I go. This is by far my least fave location. Might stop going all together

Don't go here if you like tacos or food. I got the chicken taco the chicken was hard and inedible it was like it was microwaved 6 times. I got the surf and turf taco mediocre at best and the asada was gross, the shrimp was actually the only edible thing which is surprising. I also got the guacamole and chips. If you want to pay for disgusting store bought guac this is the place for you. Come on you can't make your own. Overpriced for premade, not fresh food. I don't usually take the time to write bad reviews but I'm trying to help my fellow taco eaters not waste their money.
