I'm visiting from Oklahoma and have to say Tom's has the best BBQ AND FISH I have ever tasted! Very friendly staff, large portions, and reasonable pricing!!
I strongly suggest you give it a try if your ever in the Mesa, AZ area!

Visited Tom’s Barbecue on McKellips in Mesa for a going-away night with friends—what a great find! The BBQ was flavorful and satisfying, and the live music by Little Miss Candace, a local East Valley artist, made the evening extra special. She had over 200 songs to choose from and sang them all live—super impressive! Cool atmosphere, great drinks, and friendly people. Perfect spot for BBQ lovers in Mesa!

Great BBQ! Still the same after all these years. I've been buying their sandwiches since 1989! That's a LONG TIME! I started at the place on AZ AVE and CHANDLER BLVD and now, HIGLEY and MCKELLIPS. I love the pulled pork sandwich and so does my family...BBQ BEANS, I could live on them!

The place was really cool inside. Super cool decor and everything was really clean. The restrooms were also super clean. The patio had a cool vibe going as well. I was the only person in the place because they had just opened. The waitress was super cool and informative. Was it the best pulled pork I’ve ever eaten? No, but it was good. The barbecue sauce was pretty good. Would I come back? Probably, if I were in the neighborhood.

Great service the waitress annd staff are all nice especially our waitress Alexis was amazing very kind friendly, helpful and I can tell a lot of regular customers really like her. The food was great splendid with their portions affordable compared to other restaurants drinks were yummy. They had a one person musician singing playing guitar, it was fun to sing along. It’s a friendly warm restaurant with a great vibe, they make u feel welcome. I will definitely go there again.

Used to be our go to BBQ place, unfortunately the past couple times the food has not been very good. The meat on the ribs doesn’t fall off the bone. Rolls and cornbread were hard. The potatoes in the potato salad were undercooked. Prices don’t match the website anymore and got charged a $1.30 fee for using a debit card.
