We happened upon this place last year after a trip to Superior. We were not disappointed. Made a trip specifically from Phoenix yesterday and are pleased to say the food was just as good. I had the Green Chili and it was amazing. Served with rice and beans and fresh buttered tortillas, it was too much for one meal and now I have a delicious lunch for today. We always try to eat at local mom and pop shops and this is why. The love and care put into the food can’t be beat by any chain.

Stopped by on Sunday and the places was buzzing with happy diners. Small town atmosphere where everyone knows each other, but as non locals we did not feel unwelcome. Quite the opposite, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Food was terrific, full of flavor and served quickly. We dined on Chimi's and enchiladas and were too full to try the sopapillas. Next time for sure! And there will be a next time. Great food, great service. Only drawback - we prefer Coke products to Pepsi so we order tea and it was a bit weak. Otherwise, great!

Friendly staff, clean place and the food is AMAZING!!! So if you wanna take a little road trip just too get out the city or you're passing though Miami arizona make sure too stop and try GUAYO's EL REY.

We came in with very high expectations given all the stellar reviews, and were not disappointed. The flavors in everything were absolutely delicious. I wanted to bring all the enchilada sauce and hot salsa home with me! Will definitely be back next time we come through the area. Oh and the service was great. The place was pretty hopping even at 3:30 pm on a Saturday and filled up quickly over the hour we were there.We got combos. One was enchilada, relleno, and taco. The other was burrito, enchilada, and taco.

We waited for about 8 minutes for them to seat us. Then after finally getting seated, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes to be asked for drinks.We then waited about another 15 minutes to get our order taken. Fortunately, the food came promptly, but was flavorless and was subpar in our opinion.Never did have the waitress come by again to ask if everything was okay or even ask if we wanted another round of drinks.After waiting at least 15 minutes after eating and hoping for another drink, had to go retrieve our ticket so we could pay for the food and leave.Not impressed and would never return or recommend to others.
