I accidentally parked in a spot where parking wasn’t allowed for approximately 30 seconds. Some old wrinkly hag that worked there came flying out the door absolutely screaming at me to not park there. She could not have been more aggressive or rude. I very politely replied immediately that I would move my vehicle. As I was putting my vehicle in reverse she continued to scream at me. You would have thought I ran her over. I’m not even kidding. I didn’t talk back to her or say anything rude. I cannot believe how terrible the customer service at this place is. I have literally never encountered a ruder person in my life, and I sell trailers for a living. I cannot imagine treating a customer that way for such a small issue. Food was alright, overpriced.

The food was excellent and arrived at our table quickly. Service was amazing and the staff was very attentive. Kitchen help even came out to check how we liked our food. Wonderful experience.

Came here with a total party of 8. Two ppl got the Tomahawk steak, $58, the rest of us got burgers or normal priced items. One Tomahawk was ordered medium rare, came out medium well. I ordered onion rings as appetizer to come out first. Rings came out cold and after all the main food came out. Someone ordered a Ceasar salad, had a hair in it. Also did not get drink refills until the end of our hour long visit. Never was checked on, shouldn't of had to wait so long for refills

The place is very cool! Love the decor. But our server forgot about us I guess. We had to ask the busser to ask her to come take our order. When she finally did, the food came out pretty quick. Appetizers came after the food. It wasn’t our worst restaurant experience, but not great. Sorry. Probably a fluke.

I wish we would have known. We didn't know. Feelings of saddnes, loss, memories you want to grasp at before they evaporate, plain sorrow...feelings happen when you find out your lifelong friend has passed away. The quiet, always there, always reliable support is no longer. We just didn't know. There was no funeral. We didn't have opportunity to grieve.

If you are looking for an open pit flame cooked juicy steak, with cowboy beans in a mini dutch oven for your table and huge thick texas toast and a crisp side salad...you wil not find it at the once classic, Morman Lake Steakhouse.
The fire pit was full of storage boxes. The good ol' menu replaced with highfalutin fancies. The once eager staff ready to fill your hungry desires, now argumentative and empty with their favorite word, 'No.'

Our family had been enjoying Morman Lake and its steakhouse for decades. My grandmother told stories of taking row boats across the lake. My mom and dad would pick service berries at the lakes edge for jelly making. My brother re-homed a massive bullfrog from our Flagstaff neighborhood to the waters. Our whole family would work together for a load of wood in the forest....each visit to Morman Lake was rewarded with the Steakhouse. My husband and I were married at Gooseberry Springs and Celebrated at the best Steakhouse ever...
.......why didn't someone tell us it died.

Dietary restrictions: Watched a party leave after trying to negotiate their food allergies with the no substitute mandate ordered by the kitchen.

Kid-friendliness: No, but we've been aware of that for years. The bar side gets pretty rowdy on the week end.

Kinda disappointed. Been coming here for many years. Me and my wife's favorite spot. Ordered the tomahawk steak. My wife ordered the fig salad. The server zoomed off. I told my wife, she didn't ask what sides I wanted. When she came by I asked her why she didn't ask and she said you don't have a choice that the tomahawk steak only comes with french fries! I was like what? I thought she was just kidding. I said can I get a side salad, she said no. I'm like really? She said nope. Anyways, it was awkward. I said so I can't get mashed potatoes or onion rings or beans or cornbread and once again, nope. Oh well. The table next to me ordered their dinner and all be darn, they had mashed potatoes. Never had a server say "no" so many times. We are sad we lost our favorite spot after 35 years.

Kid-friendliness: Not kid friendly.

The lodge has changed it's menu significantly from prior years. My wife selected the chicken piccata and I selected the pasta and cheese more as a side dish. Chicken piccata, if on the menu, is one of the "litmus test" dinners we order to test the quality and flavor of a specific dish that we like. The chicken breast was large, tender, juicy and seasoned with a mild and tasty lemon sauce. It was served with a side of pasta with a light touch of lemon sauce. The meal was definitely shareable so my "side dish" of pasta and cheese, which was tasty and also more than enought for two people, wasn't necessary so we took it home for another meal. Overall we were very pleased with the quality, quantity and taste of the food. Our server was friendly and had a good knowledge of the menu options. The atmosphere still has that rustic steakhouse vibe with no changes from past years other than they have replaced many of the benches with actual chairs. For us older folks these are preferable to benches.

The only drawbacks that we would comment on are the limited menu choices and the costs. But it was still a good dining experience.

Vegetarian options: The pastas and salads

¡¡¡BEWARE DISCRIMINATION!!! NOT TOURIST FRIENDLY!! AWFUL SERVICE!! We walked in and waiter asked us to wait we waited 30 minutes and then another non color family walks in and get seated immediately. The waiter saw us clearly and gave the other family the preference. We felt discriminated as it not only felt inconvenient but disrespectful. When we confronted they said well umm but you know and gave us the oh well look. Do not recommend coming here unless you want to waste time. If I could give them zero then I would 1 is too much.
