The staff and store ITSELF are GREAT! Helpful, kind and informative. The building is very clean. You can tell all is kept clean. The product(s) on the other hand were a BIG let down. Burnt cookies (Chocolate Chip and Ginger) The ginger cookie was tasteless. The scone was nothing close to the texture or taste of what a scone should be. A peach Danish the was extremely dry with the only flavor coming from all the glazing and sugar. Two different types of bread that fall apart and crumble into nothing. Disappointing to say the least. If the product(s) were half as good as the staff, I would consider going back. For now, Breadsmith is a NO!
We stopped by this bakery for breakfast, on the way to Phoenix. They have different types of bread, focaccia, cookies and more of a quality that is rarely found in this area. Great coffee, and very good service. Promoted with top scores!
Tried it for the first time and will be back for more. Great selection too!
Selection keeps getting better and better. Lately they are experimenting more and offering new sweets and cookies. Recommend the scones (especially chocolate chip) that are not overly sweet but still yummy and apple pie bread and bread rolls. The dough is great to buy for homemade pizza nights. Anything pumpkin flavor has been good this past fall too. Just wish they sold cranberry white chocolate scones or cookies! Just want to note this is a pick up and go place, there is no seating to hang out. Service can be very good to great depending who is on shift.
Second time here today. People (2 ladies) at this place are not friendly whatsoever. The older lady who is maybe the owner or baker absolutely REEKS of cigarettes. Very off putting. While most of the items we've had are decent - DO NOT bother with the croutons for your salad. They are so salty as to be inedible and I am seeking my money back as we speak. Meh......go elsewhere....
Great bread. Unfortunately terrible customer service. I called on two separate occasions to order bread. First time they answered and asked if I could wait. They placed the phone down on the counter. I could hear everything but they forgot to come back to me. Today I called and placed an order on the phone. Left my name, number and what I wanted. My husband went to pick it up and no order and they ran out as well. If you can’t go in person first thing, don’t bother.
An unwelcoming place with a not-even-half-hearted effort to accomodate "dine-in" people. My sister and I stopped for a pastry and coffee, figuring we could sit inside. One table only, extremely limited beverages, and NO napkins. There's some outdoor tables, but not very inviting. Baked goods we ordered (maple scone, cinnamon claw, and poppyseed muffin) were perfectly average. In fact, the muffin was a bit odd--they used almond extract in the dough, but then glazed it with a very tart lemon glaze. IMH, these flavors don't dance well together. Ah, well. Then there's the help. Think "Soup Nazi" and you won't be far off the mark. Seem to have the attitude that customers are dumb sods that are more a bother than a blessing.

The girls behind the counter Echo and Kathy is the only reason I go here. The bread can be overpriced sometimes but Echo and Kathy make the whole place light up and makes it such a warm welcoming atmosphere.

Shopped at Breadsmith for years and had nothing bad to say. Since the new owners took over, it has been a different story. One of the breads we purchase is only available on certain days. No problem, except the last three times I’ve gone, the bread is not available. The first time, I was told the schedule for that bread had changed, even though the website and instore menu said I had the right day. Next time, I went on the day I was told only to find out it was not available. The last time, the owner tried to sell me another bread under the guise it was the bread I asked for. I’M DONE.

There were 2 people behind the counter, the older assistant was extremely rude and ruined the experience. Will not be returning.

A friend suggested this place and I’m glad I came. A very cute shop, comfortable, and great service. Lots of sweets and loafs of bread. Oh and free coffee and samples. Delicious selection. I will be back.
Parking: In the front of the shop, 15 minutes parking, on the side of the shop, and more parking further down the shop.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, on the side.

Ever since Small Planet closed I’ve looked for something similar to the quality of their bread. I have seen breadsmith and decided to try it. I bought a French loaf and a whole wheat sliced. French wasn’t great, the crust was too hard. Whole wheat was wonderful!
So I went back today early about 8:45 waited for my turn and wanted whole wheat. They had none. How disappointing, I would think this would be a staple of their inventory. It’s not convenient for me to make a trip there. I should have been told when the whole wheat would be back in stock, but I wasn’t. Because it takes me several days to go through a loaf I won’t be back for a while. I bought whole wheat from a grocery store that bakes in house. That bread is okay just not great.
UPDATE: I just looked at the website… to my surprise under “ made daily “ is whole wheat!!! Yet they had none at 8:45 am
